We had occasion to spend one night at the Hotel Leon Bianco in mid-October 2007. I was so pleased with my choice. The staff was friendly and very helpful from start to finish. The facility is situated right on Piazza della Cisterna but the night was quiet. The lobby is large and nicely decorated. There is a lift, internet point (service was down though when we were there), and fitness room. The buffet breakfast was the best I experienced in 28 days of travel in Italy. Huge selection of the standard fare, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, cereal, juices and fruit. The prize for me was the poached eggs and the wonderful cappuccino. I had been missing eggs for breakfast. Our room, on the first floor (US second floor) was positively wonderful. Large, bright, clean and very nicely decorated. The room had a telephone, satellite TV (another bonus as I had been wondering what was going on in our world). Italian showers are generally so small it is impossible to bend more than about 30 degrees without rapping your head but this very modern bathroom had a full size tub with shower. Yeah! I could finally bend over to wash my feet. A powerful hairdryer was at our disposal. AND....the view out the window was to die for and at no extra cost! A very positive experience was had at a very reasonable cost. I would certainly recommend the Hotel Leon Bianco.

Leon Bianco in San Gimignano Italy, is a really lovely hotel. It is in the main area, right in the heart of the town. I made sure to ask for a room with a view. It is a delightful hotel, we only stayed one night, we then wished we had stayed there the whole hol, as other hotels in other areas where not as pleasurable. It would have been Ok to travel back there each evening. Nowhere was more than about 2 hours away that we travelled to.

  • Liked — The reception was lovely, breakfast room gorgeous, out room beautifully decorated and furniture lovley, bathroom top quality.

We stayed here recently for eight nights on the joyous occasion of our Wedding in San Gimignano. All lot of friends & family also stayed here so for us with its ideal location on the Piazza it was the perfect 'base-camp' . I can't rate this hotel highly enough, nothing was too much trouble and the staff always had a smile on their face, it felt like such a homely place especially after our extended stay. We stayed in a Superior Room and it was so beautiful, and the jacuzzi bath was heaven. All our guests were also very happy with their standard rooms. On our last night the staff sent a bottle of bubbly upto the room which was a beautiful touch. Will definitely be returning!

We loved our stay at the Leon Bianco. Right in the centre of town with gorgeous views, the couple who owns the hotel is friendly and helpful. Great value, good breakfast included. The room was large, clean and charming. Bathroom was also a good size and clean. Highly reccommend spending at least a night in San Gimignano and definitely a stay at the Leon Bianco.

Leon Bianco was magical. Our window looked out onto the town square, and the room was beyond fabulous to stay in. Everything looked well-designed, the A/C was amazing, and the bathroom was beautiful! The staff was SO nice, and it was by far our favorite stay in all of Italy.

The location is perfect, right on the town square of the most amazing city in all of Italy! A true Italian experience.

At night, the town put on Puccini's "Madame Butterfly," so we opened our window and listened to the beautiful opera as we went to sleep. It was better than anything we dreamed of!
