This hotel is perfect for visiting San Gimignano and the surrounding area. The staff are friendly, the breakfasts good and the rooms very comfortable. But it's the location which really makes it ideal - a 5-10 minute stroll from the main gate into San Gimignano and with parking which is the icing on the cake. We will definitely go back.

What makes this hotel beautiful are the views from your room & the location. The service from the front desk was fabulous too. We had a very lovely room over-lookng the beautiful Tuscan hillside. Breakfast buffet was a very nice variety with excellant cappucino. The rooms provided great space for luggage, unusual in Italy. Nice mini bar, we had to pay for wifi & that was spotty @ best. We were able to drive to Volterra & Sienna with ease from this hotel. An easy walk into San Gimignano for some shopping or a meal. The front desk arranged for a cooking lesson in a nearby town which was the highlight of our 10 day Italian vacation. Both restaurants that were recommended by the hotel were excellant! The minor downside? Felt like a little blast from the 1970's, but I think that is to be expected from the area. We felt very safe here.

The Relais Santa Chiara,is a beautiful place to expend your time in Tuscany. The views from de rooms to the landscapes of the region of San Gimignano are amazing.All parts of the hotel are carefully treated by the owners.
Very nice garden with a good pool with decks chairs ,surrounded by olive trees .The room was very good and quiet.The hotel serves only snaks and lunchs,because is situated 400mts of de the medieval city {ten minutes walking],where you can find many goods restaurants.The surprise is the charging for the web,an outdated practice,mainly in this kind of hotel.But if possible,I will return.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our mini honeymoon. The hotel was very clean and friendly, we stayed in a junior suite with views and the room was perfect, the only downside was that the rooms don't offer any coffee/tea facilities but this seems to be in all the hotels in Italy, I would imagine its because the coffee is so good in Italy that they would not want to offer instant in the rooms! The breakfast was lovely and the location perfect, it took about 5 minutes to walk to the beautiful San Gimignano which I fell in love with, and with the hotel being just outside the walls....you are away from the hustle and bustle so extremely peaceful. I honestly could not fault this hotel and would highly recommend it and would also most definitely return.
