“A surprisingly good hotel with decidedly average service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013 via mobile

We only stayed in this hotel for one night but found the quality of the rooms to be very good. The wifi issue detailed on other posts wasn't a problem. The service however was. Our airport transfer was booked for two hours later than we needed and they failed to help when booking a taxi. The general feeling I had from the reception was that they were lacking motivation.

This hotel is good for the odd night however if you wanted to stay in Pisa longer I would find a more central hotel. It is a 15 euro taxi to the heart of Pisa.

If you are on business or holiday, try book yourself one of the suites. I think most reviews here are not based on normal rooms.
Staff: Exactly what one will expect of a four star hotel.Very friendly and helpful no matter what one needs.I'd say excellent Staff.

Room: Booked a double room, normal price no offers. If I posted the pictures of these room, I won't be doing any favour to the friendly staff. The rooms are in pathetic situation, the showers look like they were cleaned last time before they attained the 4th star, although the bathroom is clean.I think people around care a lot for the environment so don't be surprised if you sleep in your bed sheets 3-4 nights.

Location: From here, you will get anywhere within a short time with public means and is really cheap(just for your information, buses don't drive as scheduled, bring some patience with you).People have talked about the beach..trust me if you have plans of cooling your feet,do rent a car.It will save you the headache.

Breakfast was okay,I just missed that WOW I expected in such a hotel. The friendly staff compensates for the missing part:-)
For my part, I recommend the hotel for a short stay not unless they work on hygiene( believe me when I say that drainage smell really sucks, and I was only there to sleep).

PS: Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
PPS:The terrace is gorgeous:-)
PPPS:You don't need a faster Wi-Fi when on holiday after all it comes for free;-)

Happy travelling!!

Room Tip: Do yourselves a favour and book those suites, AC on first floor isn't noisy.Unless you love star...

The Good...

*Modern, clean & spacious. (Rooms cleaned ever day & cleaners happy to come back later if needed).

*Good breakfast. (Wide selection of food & drink which included various continental pastries/cakes, hams/salami's/cheeses, breads, bacon and scrambled eggs, fruits and yoghurts.

*Comfy, trendy and cushioned outdoor seating areas to the rear of the hotel as well as the first floor.

The Not so good..

*Wifi non existent if not sat outside reception

*Although we were told there was parking available in an underground garage which we were more than welcome to use, upon checking out we were hit with a 10 Euro a day charge for using the garage which we were not told about at any point!!!

*Slight sewage smell within the room (which was not me or my other half) :) however not as bad as some have noted in previous reviews.

Room Tip: Confirm if a charge is being added for the use of the underground parking garage. Note: Limited...

if you are looking for a hotel with some flair - that is a little different than most older Italian hotels, look no further. It's a gem - modern, clean, well managed. Easily accessible from the airport, downtown and the FI-PI-LI highway.

As others have said, the internet was a little slow, but certainly not a deal-breaker for me. Hotel was happy to accommodate special room requests and allowed us to checkin early.
Fromt desk service was warm and helpful - beautiful outdoor seating areas to enjoy the Italian sunshine and a nice drink. The real highlight was the restaurant - great free breakfast, quality dinner from fresh local ingredients and wonderful service. We had dinner on the Saturday night. While the menu is a little on the restricted side, there was a great selection of wines, and the maitre was a fluent English speaker, and ensured we had a very memorable night - a true pro who takes pride in his work.

I recommend the garden for afternoon wine and the cheese plate.

Room Tip: The upgraded rooms are worth the little extra.

I booked this hotel both on the strength of its Tripadvisor rating and because I had imagined after 10 days of romantic old-style Tuscan B&B's a modern 4 star hotel would be a welcome change - I was wrong!

The hotel is out of town yes, but very easy to get to so this was not a problem for us, although this has had been noted in other reviews. The problem with this hotel is that it is very outdated & they have not made efforts to correct recurring issues.

Myself and my boyfriend had the worst nights sleep here of our whole holiday - the air conditioning unit is far too loud, it sounded as if it was on the verge of exploding. There was another humming noise coming from the bathroom light which we could not find a switch for either. All the light switches are "cleverly" concealed in the headboard of the bed with no labels making it a very frustrating guessing game to attempt to change the lights. There was also a disgusting smell in the bathroom of sewage which stunk out the whole room.

After the longest nights sleep I went down to reception early to complain and was told that it wasn't their fault that the air con was so loud and that they knew about the smell and have put air freshener in the rooms when others complain. The receptionist made it seem like my fault because I hadn't got up in the night to tell the night porter about these issues, but there was nothing he could have done!! If they know there is a smell then they should put the air fresheners in EVERY room or fix the plumbing and if the air con units are old they should be replaced. To add insult to injury the eggs and bacon at breakfast were then cold!

In my opinion this is not a 4 star hotel, flashy design and free wifi do not make up for basic comforts such as a good nights sleep! My advice would be to steer clear and stay at a local B&B instead!

Although I did want to note that they provide a free airport shuttle which was great!!

Room Tip: If you must book here ask for air freshener in your room BEFORE you arrive!

Modern, clean, friendly staff - all you need from a hotel. Breakfast was excellent, dinner was expensive but high quality. Though out of town, close to the airport, it was an easy bus ride into the historic centre. Two minor gripes: water pressure in the shower was low; our flight times didn't coincide with the times of the hotel - airport shuttle service. Still, overall 5/5

For all Wi-fi geeks: the wi-fi is free, you will be able to access it if you ask the username and password from the reception. However the wi-fi coverage was not too good, from my room i had terrible connectivity.

When i first stepped into this hotel i was awed by the design, the front desk welcomes you immediately, and you are greeted with the lift that is on your right. As you walk to your room you will notice all the modern designs, the chairs, the tables, wallpaper.

My room was well designed, but a few of the buttons and knobs that were in the room were useless, (they were excessive buttons that were not controlling any lights.)
The WC and shower was bright red, and there were ample space in the cupboard to store your belongings.

There was no balcony, but instead i was greeted with a sign that tells me not to step out onto the ledge!

There was a wide selection of food and drinks for the buffet breakfast, i would say it was the BEST hotel for breakfast in my Italy, Switzerland and France trip.

All in all if you are in Pisa, and looking for a 4 star hotel i would recommend this hotel. There is a 5 star hotel nearby if you are looking for a higher level of service.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms that are more centralized, that is to ensure that you get good wi-fi connections
