“Avarage hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for one night. The location is central. Our room was small, basic but clean. Bathroom - everything you need. We had some problems with the shower in the bathroom but they have been fixed quickly. Strange check-in - at another hotel but if you know this in advance is not a big problem... Typical italian breakfast, good coffee and cappuccino.

This place is very cute ! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The only downsides were that the check in procedure was in another location (about 10/15 mins walk from relais dei fiori) and that the a/c in our room was not working. The staff were very polite and after all the rudeness we had encountered during the trip this almost made up for the downsides. We got free Wifi and breakfast brought to our room which was very nice. The room was very clean and all the little details were lovely. I would recommend this place!

We were relocated to room in a nearby hotel Relais dei Fiori upon checking in. They were most likely overbooked, but the room was clean. However, the hotel is located next to a busy street and the noise at night kept us up all night. The main problem was that the room had no AC, so we had to keep a few windows open to let some fresh air in, but there were people that stayed up all night shouting/chatting/yelling which made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in general. We'd probably rate this hotel higher had we stayed at the main hotel Relais Dell'Orologio instead.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 2 nights and firstly fell foul to the check at another location problem. On the plus side our taxi driver didn't charge us extra. However once we were checked in, there is no service to take your luggage back across town and the receptionist gave us a poor copy map to direct us back across town. Unfortunately she sent us in completely the wrong direction and the map was too poor for locals to help us!

Once we did make it, the room was nice but so much furniture in there you couldn't move. The air con didn't work and if you opened the window the noise was too loud to sleep.

Finally the shower was hopeless. It leaked everywhere, was cold and with some dodgy pressure. We tried to call reception to sort out the problems but the number they have us was constantly engaged!

The Relais Dei Fiori was an excellent stop between the Cinque Terra and Rome. We spent a wonderful evening in Pisa, a quaint and charming town, and had an excellent experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, spoke english, and was eager to please. The hotel is ideally located and provides easy walking access to the leaning tower and many wonderful restaurants. My wife and I both highly recommend this place.

The hotel is perfectly located a few steps away from the Leaning Tower. It could almost be viewed from our window. The room is dated and in need of some renovation but the ceiling detail of painted flowers is a lovely sight to wake up to. Breakfast is basic but the coffee was good enough and Nutella was also available so no complaints. A suitable place to stay for 1 night.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Having booked this hotel via hotels.com, it was only the night before travelling that we discovered from TripAdvisor that check-in would be at a different hotel, 400 metres away along streets with narrow pavements where cars and cyclists are a frequent hazard. It is completely unacceptable that this fact is not revealed upfront before booking or on the confirmation of booking or on the final confirmation when the credit card payment has gone through! We arrived (twice - for a short stay en route to Florence and another on our way back to the airport) in daylight, in good weather, with relatively light luggage and my husband's superior mapreading skills, but I pity anyone to whom these advantages don't apply. That said we found the hotel itself OK - nicely decorated rooms though oddly our first 'standard' room appeared better cared for than our second 'de luxe' room - and a good breakfast with appetising fresh bread and decent coffee - apart from the showers and in the second room a non-functioning safe! The first room's shower never got above very cold, and the second got warm-ish but the seal between the door and frame had failed and the entire floor was soaked - and as we had no bathmat we had to use one of our two hand-towels to mop it up. These are problems we would have reported to reception / management if they'd been onsite, but with both 400 metres away and our payment having been taken in advance through the booking site we just felt it wasn't worth it! The one time I tried to phone reception at the other hotel to tell them we were checking out, the phone was engaged and we decided not to wait.

Room Tip: Insist on a decent shower, adequate towels and a functioning safe.
