The hotel is outdated.Worst breakfast i have ever had.Shower in room was rubbish.Carpet filthy and smelly.Supermarket and train station 5 minute walk from the hotel.When you buy stuff get receipts keep them incase police ask to see them.

This hotel is in a great location, about 2 minutes from the Leaning Tower, and I could see it from my bedroom window. My room was quite small, and noisy, both from the road and from the toilet flushing and shower next door but it was not a big problem. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was a bit basic but adequate.

We were stuck in Pisa due to a train strike, so we decided to make the most of this opportunity and visit the learning tower of Pisa, as we arrived, it began to bucket down and we were tired and cold.

Hotel Roma was conveniently located, from the macdonalds/ leaning tower of Pisa, so we decided to stay over, which seemed to be the right thing to do...

Due to the fact that fellow TA users had given this hotel a rating of 18 out of 80 hotels available as well as a overall rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars...

€88 a night, the positives are as follows:-
The location is not bad (you probably don't really want to be in Pisa though)
Good shower - although a bit of mildew.

The negatives as follows:-
Rude doorman
Decor early 80's
No maintenance since early 80's
Dirty industrial carpet throughout the hotel.
Blind in room killed any sunlight.
Aircon noisy and didn't seem to work that well.
Breakfast was pretty bad, even though the servers were friendly and helpful - what looked like recycled corn flakes and bread in a packet, coffee was not good either.

Bottom line European standards are really bad if this is 3 star...

Hotel Roma is literally just acroos the road from the Leaning Tower so some rooms offer views of the Leaning Tower or the Duomo. We were greeted very warmly and given a map of the area with a detailed explanantion of places to go and also to avoid at night! Rooms are basic but functional. We had a problem with the air conditioning and the guy on the desk had changed to one who didn't understand much English but we managed to get it resolved without too much difficulty. It nice to have the garden, especially the fact it was nice and shaded, as it was really hot when we were there. The bus stop from Pisa Centrale Train Station and the Airport is right next to the hotel. Would definitely recommend it.
