We stayed for 4 nights last week. We booked through a travel agent for an anniversary break. Based on previous reviews we asked for a room on the 3rd floor. The room was nice, and clean with good quality towels. The breakfast was varied , with something for everyone. As a coeliac, I was delighted to be given hot bread rolls and a basket of various gluten free foods, from crackers to cakes. If I had one complaint it would be the coffee! For Italy it was the worst coffee I tasted. [spend some money on a coffee machine] We had drinks in the evening sitting outside in the patio area. The bar was a little pricey and closed at 11pm.
I thought the staff on reception seemed pre occupied all the time, they hardly raised their heads from their computer screens.
It's a short enough walk to the tower from the hotel and seemed quite safe despite having to walk under a bridge to get there.
