No, it's not a romantic restaurant to take your lady, and dine with candlelight, while sampling the best Tuscan cuisine you've ever had. With that said, your lady might be impressed (mine certainly loved it) by the down to earth, authentic, charming, cozy and good quality food this "panineria" had to offer.
It's also a refreshing escape to the tourist restaurant that abound around the piazza dei miracoli. It's straight forward, self-service Chianti, menu in different languages, great bread, and outstanding cheeses and cold cuts (I cannot comment on the latter, for I'm vegetarian, but the prosciutto looked amazing) We (vegans) won't find too many choices, not their fault, our choice; however, I had artichokes, aubergine, tomatoes in oil... Oh, decadent! Then, I moved on to the four cheeses panini... (I'm getting hungry just to write about it)
Google it, map it, find it, eat there, or even pack it to go. You'll enjoy it.
