We stayed here for 5 nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel by train to other places within Tuscany. This hotel is literally a few minutes walk to the train station - great for what we needed! We were very pleased with the hotel, and were lucky enough to get 1 of 2 rooms on the 5th (top) floor, the room was a decent size with 2 french doors leading out onto a massive roof terrace. The beds were on the hard side, and the towels were very strange, large but very thin, but they did the job. The room was cleaned to a high standard every day, and there was a large choice at breakfast.
It is approximately 30 minutes walk to the Leaning Tower, and although the area around the station isn't the nicest in Pisa, we felt safe throughout our stay, both day and night.
Although there are restaurants nearby, we tended to walk up to north of the river, where there is more choice, more ambience, and the price difference is minimal.
Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning day trips by train out of the city. Great value for money.
