“good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We stayed in early October for 2 nights. We really liked the hotel. Very good surroundings, very helpful staff and excellent breakfast. The hotel also provided free pickup and drop off to the airpot
very nice garden.and close to the tower too.

Dear Guest, thanks a lot for staying in our hotel and sharing your experience on Tripadvisor. For the following readers I would like to specify that shuttle service is only free of charge if you made your (room)-booking directly with us. For third-party-channel bookings, the shuttle service is available for 5,00 Euros per person. Hope to welcome you soon again. Best regards. Luca Gherardi

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago. We couldn't get hold of reception on the phone to make use of the free shuttle service but a taxi to the hotel was cheap from airport (7 euros) . It's a great location, walking distance to train station and a 15 min walk to the tower.
Room was very clean, nice size and the breakfast the next day was good. Lots of variety and filled us up for the long day ahead.
Our room was out the back of the hotel, separate to the main building. Nice and quiet.
Would stay again.

Room Tip: Our room was out the back of the hotel, separate to the main building so was nice and quiet.

we stayed at Hotel Bologna for the last night of our 5 night trip to Italy. the hotel is in a good location, about an 8min walk from the train station, 10 min drive from the airport and a 15-20 min walk to the leaning tower.

The hotel do operate a shuttle which is 5 € if you haven't booked directly through the hotel, I wouldn't recommend booking through the hotel just to get the shuttle as it can be found much cheaper on a 3rd party website.

Check in was quick but that was mainly due to a lack of any interested interaction from the girl behind the desk who was fairly grumpy and if im honest couldnt really be bothered. Staff of check out were a little better but still fairly uninterested. We never got any offer to help with our luggage on either occassion, which we would have turned down but the offer would have been nice and something we did get at other hotels on our trip.

The room was adequate, nicely decorarted and very very clean, small bathroom but it did its job for the night we were there, any longer and it would of been a bit too small. One problem is that the walls and floors are thin, we heard every noise all through the night. The room was very hot and the temperature was hard to control leading us to open the window which let all the noise from the street.

Breakfast was great, a good choice of cereals, fruit, pasteries and cold meats.

For the cleanliness and the location I would stay here again.

Too much money available? Our conditions indicate very clearly that we meet and beat every rate available about our hotel and if you prove contrary will will top it with a free drink in our hotel bar. Taking into account the free shuttle-service, the drink and the better rate conditions you could have an advantage of around 10% confronting to third-party channels. The only thing required is to read our website and to speak to us if something seams to be different as expected. We are available for you 24 hours a day. Please use this opportunity. Best regards.

This place looks good and was reasonable value at A$127 for a quadruple room (a king bed in one room and two singles in an adjoining room with the door removed - room 301) but our stay was spoilt by grumpy reception staff, a tiny bathroom with towels that did not look very clean and the fact that the reverse cycle air conditioner did not work effectively so that we could only get the temperature up to 17 degrees in the room and needed every blanket we could find. Breakfast was very good but we could not wait to leave by then.

Dear Guests, if problems or any inconveniences are communicated "just-in-time" to us, during your stay, we have all the time and competence to resolve them. Claims after check-out are not contributing to a productive solution. Our staff is available 24 hours a day, the air-condition can be controlled in-room or remoted by reception staff on requested if guests indicates any difficulties. Also, during low-season we surely would have had the possibility to offer a room-change. If you had the perception of a "grumpy" staff, we deeply regret and apologise. I suppose it was a misunderstanding, our staff usually are not entertainments clowns nor are they such "grumpy". In any case of emergency the owners are living in the same facility and are available for any suggestion. If there is anything we can do for you in future, please don´t hesitate to contact us. Best regards. Luca Gherardi

A friend and I stopped here for our last night in Italy. We appreciated the shuttle to the airport early in the morning and the breakfast we were given to take with us. We also thought the lobby area to be lovely and cozy and the hotel itself to be clean and well kept. Unfortunately, our room was so very tiny, with two single beds lined up toe to toe along the wall we felt claustrophobic. We could not even open our suitcases in the room. It was also very hot in the room and opening the window a small bit helped but the noise and cigarette smoke coming in made us close it again. It's a shame that we couldn't rate the hotel higher but the room made it so uncomfortable for us that we couldn't wait to check out.

Hotel Bologna, south of the Arno in part of Pisa's historic Quarter, is an exemplar of how to modernise an old building in an historic city centre. Forget the indigestion your sat-nav will have trying to find it if you approach from the south, just get there and relax. Car parking on site, (essential) tick; reception area clean and spacious, tick; modern silent lift, tick; room clean, designer looks, tick; a bathroom to die for, tick, tick. And all this with an excellent breakfast in the centre of Pisa and ten minutes from the airport, what more can you want? Oh! And all for €54. PERFECT

We had a one night stay at this hotel following a couple of days in Venice and Florence.

The hotel is nice, clean and located fairly well ( it's a 15 min walk to the Torre Di Pisa).

Rooms are ok, although try to be located on the back. We were on the front on the main road and it seemed like a very busy road during the early hours, the amount of traffic woke me early and was very loud. Also the walls must be thin as you can hear every door close and people walking around the floors.

Breakfast was very good, good selection of cereals, pastries, and fruit.

The hotel offer a shuttle service which is only a short 10 min ride to the airport, this was chargeable to us though at 5€ each.

The staff were ok, on arrival they seemed a bit rude but the girl did suggest a local restaurant for us that evening (Bagus) which was literally around the corner, the food was good.

Pisa is a nice town, but I could imagine any longer than a day or so would be too much.
