“Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

A wonderful place to start our honeymoon. Stunning rooms and views along the Arno. Helpful staff and very handy location for everything you could want to see on your stay in Pisa. Breakfast was excellent and we were advised on local restaurants etc

I travelled with a friend, a few days holiday before Christmas. On entering our room we were blown away by it's charm, the gorgeous furniture, the fireplace, the balcony over the river, what more could we want?! The room had its own bathroom, enough storage space, hangers, clean towels. Breakfast was good with a vast selection of cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereal, juices & of course tea or coffee brought by a very helpful lady. The reception staff were excellent even going the extra mile by charging my mobile phone overnight at reception since my adaptor didn't fit their sockets. The train station is just a ten minute walk away over the bridge, walking through a road full of shops & market stalls. There's many restaurants in the area & aperitivo on offer too. I would definitely stay there again should I visit Pisa in the future.

Room Tip: The road on the river is pretty noisy, seems to be a main road so if you're a light sleeper I...

The artwork in the halls and rooms are worth the visit alone. Great huge rooms filled with antiques. Breakfast superb. Management very attentive. Close to everything. I would come anytime I am near Pisa. It is like a step back in time. It is like staying in a museum. Solid comfort.

Room Tip: Don't miss the old phone booth or the cocktail time.

Comfortable, quaint, elegant central hotel. Like going back in time. Old fashioned with genuine antiques. Breakfast was good and the staff very, very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of reasonable restaurants locally. Easy to get to all the interesting places such as the leaning tower and Duomo. Easy to get to from the airport on the bus. Had a great time in Pisa.

My grandaughter and I stayed at the hotel for one night, This is a hotel of an earlier era and is quite beautiful We each had a large double room with most comfortable beds. since this was a winter visit our rooms and indeed the whole hotel was warm and welcoming. It is worth looking around the public rooms, they are all quite elegant. The hotel is well situated overlooking the river Arno and only a gentle ten minute stroll through some lovely old streets to the Tower and Duomo. The staff at the hotel are most courteous and helpful and suggested restaurants where we might have our evening meal., After we had our meal we had rather a cold walk back to the hotel and we asked if we could have a hot chocolate we were brought a drink which was to die for, if you visit this hotel try it. All in all a great hotel and a great visit to Pisa

We had been to Pisa several years before and stayed at the Royal Victoria then. We didn't really even research anywhere else....but we should have.
We had asked for a room overlooking the River Arno and, despite not being even close to full, we were given a tiny, stuffy cranny overlooking the parking area. We saw the wide open staircases, airy hallways and lovely details on the way to our cell....but certainly this was not reflected in our room.
The location is great....well within walking distance of both the Tower and the lively, urban area across the river. The breakfast was very good with a nice hot buffet included. Our only complaint was the room. We maybe should have asked to be moved, but didn't.

Room Tip: In the wintertime, ask for a room overlooking the Arno. In the summer, it's likely going to be...

Gentili Signori
thank you for coming back at the Royal Victoria Hotel.
As you wrote, we are very sorry to hear that you did not ask for a different type of room.
We have a Front Desk open 24hrs to assist our guests during their whole stay, and we are very happy to help our clients when they need assistance.
On our web page you can see that we have differet rooms categories with different prices to be able to please different needs. We start from our Economy Room very simple and without private bathroom, we then have Budget rooms with private bathroom small but confy, up to Traditional, Classic and Junior suites very very large rooms with view of the River Arno (which is quiet unique!) frescos on the celings and antique forniture.
We are happy that you enjoyed the central position of the Hotel as we are right in the heart of the city, and that you liked our large Continental Brekfast.
We hope to see you again in the near future at the Royal Victoria Hotel.
With Many Best Regards from Sunny Pisa
