“Wonderful find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Looking for a place close to the Palazzo dei Congressi where I was going to be attending a 4 day conference, I found Il Mattino via Trip Advisor. All of the compliments and wonderful reviews helped me make my selection and I was so happy I chose Il Mattino. The location was wonderful for me...a quick walk to the conference, a bit longer walk to the Leaning Tower but via a non-car boulevard with many interesting shops. Monica, the hostess, was friendly, warm, and so hospitable besides being terrifically helpful. She had a great map of Pisa and was able to show me various routes to the conference, grocery market (huge Coop), tourist attractions, and restaurants. Upon entering the B and B, which looks like an ordinary house front, you find yourself in a beautiful foyer which is clean and inviting. My room was upstairs...a clean and well -appointed room which was a single but with a huge bed, an armoire, air conditioning if needed, and plenty of room to put my things. There was hot water for tea and Monica provided the milk for it upon request. The bathroom was clean and supplied with an ample amount of toiletries and towels. Breakfast was delicious with homemade quiche, cakes, cereal, yogurt, meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, juices and choice of hot beverages. Monica's cappuccino was wonderful. I drove and Monica directed me to a free and safe parking area about a 5 minute walk away. The help and advice given couldn't have been more helpful. I wasn't planning on visiting Pisa on my next trip to Italy in 2013 but am definitely going to do so now and will stay at Il Mattino again.

Room Tip: I will ask for a first floor room next time as I have a bad right knee so could avoid the stairs to...

This is a super place to stay. The host Monica is warm & friendly & provides lots of useful information to aid you in your trips & local attractions. The room we had was spacious ,immaculately clean .Breakfast is outside under cover in a beautiful courtyard garden. It is self service with a selection of cheeses, bread, jams, fresh fruit.Monica is a fantastic cook & her homemade cakes & savoury flans are superb & a lovely breakfast treat. We enjoyed cappachinos for breakfast .There is a kettle ,tea & coffee & she also provided fresh milk for our English tea .It is situated in a quiet neighbourhood & a lovely walk to the main town 15 mins & 25 mins walk to central station to take trains to other cities .Trains are easy ,cheap & efficient way of travelling .We walked from Pisa airport to IL Mattino which took 30 minutes. We took a taxi back & was charged 15 Euros on our return & taking the long way to the airport by a rip off taxi driver- beware ! You can take a bus but you need to take one to the centre & then another one out so it takes longer .If I returned I would definitely walk from & to the airport to Il Mattino .. Ha l'oro in bocca. We would recommend this for a lovely city break to Pisa it is 5 star .

Everything about our 3 night stay in this bed and breakfast was excellent. It is in a quite part of Pisa about 25 minutes walk to the centre, the room was spotless, so much variety at breakfast and Monica is the perfect owner/host nothing is too much trouble she made our stay. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again.

We spent a wonderful three nights at IL Mattino. Monica is a delightful host and couldn't have been more helpful. The B&B is about a 10 minute walk from Pisa centre - along the River Arno. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Breakfast included a varied selection of Monica's delicious home made pies. IL Mattino is a well presented and thoughtfully designed B&B. Unfortunately, it was the season for mosquitoes whilst we were there, and so we couldn't make use of Monica's lovely garden in the evening. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

A very homely and carefully looked after family hotel set in the quiet Pisa suburbs. It is not in the centre but within walking distance of it.

( If you rent a car be very careful where you go in the centre as there is a limited traffic zone with traffic cameras and heavy fines if you're not authorized. It's too easy to fall foul of this system and signage could be more prominent considering the hefty penalty.)

From the hotel it's a gentle 25 minute walk to the leaning tower.
A large, clean and tastefully decorated old townhouse, comfortable though not huge en-suite bedroom with high ceilings and a kettle.
Breakfast was continental; tasty and home-baked with good coffee. They dont offer evening meals but their restaurant recommendations won't let you down either. Thoroughly pleasant place to return to after a hard days sightseeing.

We absolutely loved this B&B, room was very nice, well appointed and very clean.
Breakfast was served in a beautiful setting and a good selection.
Walking distance from the center of Pisa.

We had a car rental and the parking was just a block or so away, and it was Free.

Would definitely come back if we ever come to Pisa again.
Owner was very accommodating and sweet.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Magnolia room which was in the back and looked out over the garden. Nice and quie...

We truly felt at home in this B&B. The service was superb, Monica (who runs the place) was super nice and helpful in every way. The place was inmaculately clean and very nicely decorated. As for the breakfast, it was varied and had a choice of home made pies. If I ever go back to Pisa, I am definitely coming back to this place!
