“Ideal B&B to explore Pisa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

We spent a wonderful three nights at IL Mattino. Monica is a delightful host and couldn't have been more helpful. The B&B is about a 10 minute walk from Pisa centre - along the River Arno. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Breakfast included a varied selection of Monica's delicious home made pies. IL Mattino is a well presented and thoughtfully designed B&B. Unfortunately, it was the season for mosquitoes whilst we were there, and so we couldn't make use of Monica's lovely garden in the evening. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

A very homely and carefully looked after family hotel set in the quiet Pisa suburbs. It is not in the centre but within walking distance of it.

( If you rent a car be very careful where you go in the centre as there is a limited traffic zone with traffic cameras and heavy fines if you're not authorized. It's too easy to fall foul of this system and signage could be more prominent considering the hefty penalty.)

From the hotel it's a gentle 25 minute walk to the leaning tower.
A large, clean and tastefully decorated old townhouse, comfortable though not huge en-suite bedroom with high ceilings and a kettle.
Breakfast was continental; tasty and home-baked with good coffee. They dont offer evening meals but their restaurant recommendations won't let you down either. Thoroughly pleasant place to return to after a hard days sightseeing.

We absolutely loved this B&B, room was very nice, well appointed and very clean.
Breakfast was served in a beautiful setting and a good selection.
Walking distance from the center of Pisa.

We had a car rental and the parking was just a block or so away, and it was Free.

Would definitely come back if we ever come to Pisa again.
Owner was very accommodating and sweet.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Magnolia room which was in the back and looked out over the garden. Nice and quie...

We truly felt at home in this B&B. The service was superb, Monica (who runs the place) was super nice and helpful in every way. The place was inmaculately clean and very nicely decorated. As for the breakfast, it was varied and had a choice of home made pies. If I ever go back to Pisa, I am definitely coming back to this place!

This lovely lady runs a perfect little personal b&b. She is btw an architect and has designed the place herself. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished, the breakfast is great and partly homemade. It's located in walking distance from the historic center. We can highly recommend it.

As the name of the hotel says - you can find gold if you get up early. But you do not have to, because you will love this BB anyway. The hospitality of the hostess - Monica, is unbeatable. No questions of us remained unanswered, no wish incompleted. She was very helpful and very kind during our stay. She also bakes different cakes for breakfast. The house and the rooms are perfectly decorated and furnished - everything matches. The hotel is located near to the airport (only 10 minute drive) and near to the motorway. Free parking is available within 200 metres. The city centre is 20 minute by foot. I can highly recommend this BB.

Very good BB with very nice hostess. She greeted us in the best way and gave us useful tips for where we should eat and what we should see. Always present and helpful. Beautiful furnished rooms and excellent beds. Efficient air conditioning. Very good bathroom. Very clean room. Free parking 200 meters from the site. 15 minutes walk to the center. Great breakfast with homemade cakes. If we are going to Pisa again we will definitely choose il Matteo.
