“Amazing location, nice room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Can't fault this wee place, it feels very homely and the owner is quite a character. The room was very well appointed and clean. The location is unbeatable smack in the centre of Pisa. It is in a pedestrianised area so you may have to walk a few yards to it.
Not immediately obvious to find as it does not have a big sign outside.

Very quaint small hotel up a narrow side street about 6 minutes walk to the Learning Tower and Duomo. As previously stated, not that easy to find but that was part of its charm. The owner is very friendly and made breakfast for us.

Stayed for a night. Tricky to find at first, down a side street and not clearly signed. Gentleman very warm and friendly, did not speak any English. Hotel is in quite a good central area with shops and cafes around.

Lots of stairs to get up to the reception and then more stairs up to our room which was on the top floor. Room very clean. Wifi reception fine. Bed not the most comfortable, very soft, lumpy mattress but fine for a night.

Breakfast was sweet pastry, tea/coffee and salami. There were cereals and fruit on a side table which I would have preferred but it seemed we were not welcome to help ourselves to these - very strange. On checkout I discovered only cash was accepted. This should be made more clear when booking.

The place is ideal if you wanna walk around Pisa, five minutes away from the tower and just in the middle of the night life, but quiet enough for you to rest! Average prices, the owner is nice, friendly and welcomes young people like they were all his grandsons, it's absolutely worth going notwithstanding some small shortcomings (low water pressure in the shower, small single room for the price I paid). All in all it's pretty good!

Cute and cozy! We wandered around a bit b/c we missed our bus stop, but as soon as we turned the corner a waiter at one of the restaurants downstairs pointed us towards the door. Except for a little sign, it looks totally nondescript from the outside but as soon as you walk in it's so charming! Like other reviewers have noted, it's all stairs so if you don't like climbing at least 1 floor, this is not the place for you. The room we were assigned was on the second floor and although tiny we had our own bathroom, TV and massive antique wardrobe. The old wooden beams have been preserved throughout the property and there are parts were the wall was not refurbished and shows the layers of materials used throughout the years; even some of the faded paintings of yesteryear. Benito, our host, was so welcoming and served us a yummy breakfast. Nothing fancy, just good ol' bread, salami, cheese and coffee - perfect for us; all quality ingredients in a cozy setting. This was our first stop of our little european getaway and it was a great place to start. Grazie mille Benito!

Room Tip: If you stay in one of the rooms close to the kitchen (each floor has a kitchen) you might get wifi i...

I've been meaning to write this for some time. We really enjoyed our stay at Due Borghi - although Benito origianlly mixed us up with another family and we'd lugged our bags up several flights of stairs, our stay in two rooms (one double and one twin) was excellent. The rooms are individual (might be termed vintage in the UK), but with all working, clear mod cons. The highlight for us was Benito's breakfast - eccentric, fresh, thoughtful - all things we like.
