We were due to arrive quite late in the evening on a flight from Liverpool UK, so I booked here knowing it was close to the bus/train station. We were due to get a train the next morning to San Gimignano, so wanted to be close to the station. Well we stepped off the airport bus and directly into the hotel!! Could not have been more convenient. Then across the road the next morning for the train - perfect. We've been to Pisa a few times before and had no intention of visiting the sights again.

We have stayed in a number of NH hotels and they are generally very modern - this was the case here.

Arrival 2/5 - fast and efficient check in, but not the most friendly of receptions. The middle aged chap on the front desk was rather cold towards us and looked like he wanted to be somewhere else - perhaps he did. He was also on the front desk when we checked out - he was similarly cold and disinterested, though efficient.

Room 4/5 - very modern and clean. Nice bed and good choice of tv channels. Lots of lights. Plenty of storage. Nice modern bathroom. All very good.

Location 5/5 - perfect if you are travelling to/from Pisa by bus or train. Not so good it you are staying in Pisa to see the sights. If you are staying for a few nights, then I'd stay closer to the tower.

Breakfast 4/5 - good choice of hot and cold food. All very pleasant.

Overall 4/5 - could have been 5/5 , but for the miserable man on reception.

The hotel is just opposite the train station, which is great if you are using the train for day trips in the region. Also the train ride from the airport is only five minutes and costs €1.40.
In spite of being just across the train station, the double glazing, together with double windows, blocked the sound from the outside. Its a pity that the sound insulation form neighbouring and rooms above was not so good.
Although the decor in the lobby and corridors is quite modern and pleasant, opening the door to the room is like being thrown back to the early 90's. Although the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, they were crying out for an update.

Excellent hotel, excellent location, friendly staff, lovelly food. The tower is a nice walk down the main street, takes no more than 30 minutes strole. There was a train strike the day we were due to depart and the hotel were very friendly and helpful, shame could not say the same about train staff

My husband had been to Pisa before, but I had not, but he said one day would be plenty to see all there was to see. So we chose this hotel because of its proximity to the train station. It is directly across the street, so no problem with luggage. From the hotel, it is a pleasant 30 minute walk to the Tower through very interesting old streets, including the one on which Galileo lived. Pretty awesome thinking of walking the very same cobblestones he walked on! We spent the afternoon walking to and from the Tower and alongside the river to the Scotto Gardens, then left on the train the next morning.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff very courteous. Breakfast was good, with assorted meats, cheeses, croissants, scrambled eggs, coffee and juices. Free wifi.
