I think if people are saying this is the best hostel they've ever stayed in, then they've not stayed in many hostels, or at least many good ones.
It was ok, but nothing more than that. Because we stayed in low season the prices were cheaper but they charged extra for sheets - and you have to pay for them, you're not allowed to use a sleeping bag. So why not just include this in the price?

The free 'continental breakfast' advertised was not good enough. Some below average coffee and biscuits! No toast or cereal as is the usual hostel stuff. Don't mind not getting free breakfast, just don't advertise it as such.

Kitchen smelt a bit weird and was very small but at least they had one. Staff were friendly and beds were comfy. Not the worst place to stay, probably one of the best in Pisa, just not that amazed compared to other cheap hostels I've stayed in.

I was glad that I only spent one night here. It was hot and strange. I arrived at night, and was asked to pay cash which was fine, but they did not have any change. The receptionist even had to ask his friend for 50 cents in change. The room itself was clean, but it was very hot, and there were no locks on the doors. We were told that it was a shared room and that it cannot be locked. I have been in plenty of hostels, and they all have locks on "shared rooms." In the morning, I heard another group of people complaining about their room being too loud, as there's was overlooking a busy street. Glad I was at least on the other side of the hostel.

I am surprised by the amount of good reviews here. I was very disappointed when I arrived there and after months of bagpacking, this hostel is the worst hostel I've ever stayed in.

This hostel practises False Advertising. The website promised:
1. AIr-conditioning
2. Elevator
We decided to book this because of the hot Italian summer and one of our friends has a leg injury. However upon arrival, the elevator was not in use and the lady boss, Anna refused to turn on air-conditioners for all rooms.

Do not be surprised if you book a 4-bed dorm and get an 8-bed dorm. They will change your room as and when they please. We only found out that we were not going to get the rooms we booked for after we have paid and they have led us into the 8-bed dorm. When asked about it, they were rude and their explanation did not make logical sense. What made it worse was that they were rude with their apology. It isn't nice of them to treat a customer this way.

For a hostel with a capacity for 30+ guests but there are only Two Toilets! Be prepared for long queues.

The kitchen was in a mess. I tried to place some things on table near my bed and there was a thick layer of dust. I wonder if they ever clean it.

The eight bed dorm has an ancient wall which lets in a lot of noise from the shopping street this hostel was on. The notice on the cupboard apologised for it and said that they were taking action to make this wall soundproof. However, I do not see any visible construction work going on with the wall.

Empty promises, false advertising, not getting what you booked and paid for, rude customer service, long toilet queues, unclean rooms, etc. Are you really sure you will want to pay money to stay here?

I don't know how to thank Marco from Walking Street Hotel, so my payment of his incredible hospitality is by writing this review. We had an unfortunate experience where our flight was late into Pisa and our booked accommodation was closed. At 3am, Marco happily took us in, after a very stressful phone call or two, and he found room for us in the wee hours. We had a king size bed in a shared dorm, which was comfy, clean and cheap - we couldn't have got a better room if we'd tried! Thank you Marco, you should be proud of your hostel, and the service you provide to your travellers.

A clean, safe smaller hostel located right in the centre of the action of Pisa, short walks to all kinds of interesting places, helpful staff, with 24hour security, laid back and easy going place. Very accommodating for groups. Stay here!! you will like it. I did. I'll come back again.
