The hotel is located outside of Pisa. It is in walking distance, but the walk is indeed not very pleasant, especially at night, so we took a taxi back. The ride from the centre back to the hotel cost us 9€ at night rate, so I wouldn't say that the location is an issue. There is nothing very thrilling about the centre of Pisa anyway, and staying here avoided all the traffic "ZTL" issues.
The pool was great, the staff were fantastic, our room (a junior suite in the tower) was absolutely perfect for our family of three. Everything about the hotel is excellent, congratulations! The only - very small - shortcoming was the 'tang' fruit juice served with an otherwise great breakfast. Orange juice seems to be the common Achilles' heel of Italian hotels!
I would unhesitatingly recommend this hotel as the perfect choice in Pisa. However, if given a second chance, we would not choose to stay in Pisa again: Lucca is much more appealing.
