La Romea is a lovely bed and breakfast in a central location in Lucca. We stayed for 3 nights in the Ivory Room which was very spacious and comfortable and like the rest of La Romea, characterful. Giulio and Gaia are very welcoming hosts and offered us some great restaurant recommendations and also tipped us off about a Puccini concert which was one of the highlights of the trip. Highly recommended.

We stayed at La Romea in 2007 and booked through the local Tourist centre. Lucca itself is enchanting. Our gracious hosts at the time, Simonetta and Lilly recommended that we cycle (or walk) around the walls, it was a wonderful experience. Breakfast was served in the hall and was delicious. We travelled with another couple and they booked the grand room and were justly impressed with the frescoes painted on the ceiling. We chose a "smaller" room which was beautifully furnished with antiques and the largest room that we stayed in on our entire European trip. We were made to feel so welcome and recall our 2 night stay at this 14th century palazzo with great pleasure.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the "yellow" room.

We recently stayed at La Romea in Lucca . We had 2 rooms at La Romea early September and have to say that the amazing 16th century house was a memorable experience. The location was incredible , so central to everything and perfect to explore Lucca.
The stay was made memorable by the hosts Giulio and Gaia who were very helpful and provided us with assistance and advice that greatly helped us to make the most of our stay in a fascinating place . You will not be disappointed by La Romea and Lucca!

Do not miss Lucca, a frequently overlooked city in Tuscany. And especially do not miss staying at Bed & Breakfast La Romea.
Guilio and Gaia, the owners, go well out of their way to help and made our stay in beautiful Lucca unforgetable.
The B&B is centrally located to everything but plan on getting lost several times in the maze of streets.

Lovely, just lovely...
We booked La Romea for a four night stay during our tour of Tuscany in August this year and boy, did we make a good choice. From the moment we arrived the whole place felt special and welcomed us within it's walls like a truly relaxing, comforting hug.
La Romea is remarkably well run by the most genuinely friendly couple, and as previously said, it really felt like visiting friends.
The location is perfect, the rooms were astounding and breakfast was served in the most relaxing environment and really was the best start to each day. We've even carried on with the breakfast menu since being back in the UK.
We honestly can't recommend this enough, we liked it so much that we stayed an extra night!

A big THANK YOU to La Romea for making our trip to Lucca so special!

The place to stay in Lucca if you're after an elegant, perfectly positioned and classy haven in the heart of Lucca. Set in a beautiful 16th century merchant's house, in the centre of Lucca's historic old town, it has 3 well-equipped, spacious and period rooms. The staff are unbelievably helpful and will happily arrange everything from vehicle access to restaurant reservations. Breakfasts are served in a beautiful high-ceilinged room and are not sizeable and scrumptious. La Romea is the place to stay in Lucca.

This is a wonderful en-suited B & B styled accommodation in part of a 14th. century merchants house in the middle of the walled city of Lucca. Rooms are beautiful with many ornate ceiling and plaster work. Staff are helpful . Service is wonderful. Breakfasts are elegant. Pedestrian access is easy. Vehicular access for luggage is possible by arrangement.

Room Tip: Book in advance and pre arrange vehicular access for luggage. The property is on the first floor of...
