“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

We only intended to stay one bight on our way back from Rome, but wound up staying for two.
Reception was courteous and helpful, the rooms were modern and clean. Parking and internet were free and breakfast was included, so the total cost was very competitive. If you want luxury, style and charm, go inside the walls, if you want a good night's sleep for a reasonable rate, this is the place to stay.

The rooms on the McDonalds side have double beds and the other side has twins. The non MacDo side was quiet and the twins when pushed together are bigger than the doubles.

The breakfast was copious (ask the staff for espresso or cappuccino, much nicer than the coffee from the machine). The 'juice', wasn't great, it's made from concentrate, and tasted as if they had put concentrate directly into the dispenser,

It is 1.3km to the ramparts up the viale San Concordia and the underpass under the railway, which also has a cycle track if you prefer to bike. Bikes are cheap; only 1 gear, but Lucca is flat. Everyone goes around on bikes in the city.

Would stay again.

Room Tip: ask for a twin on the side opposite macdonalds

Had a 2 week stay here whilst travelling in Tuscany. Great base to see Lucca, Florence, Siena, Pisa and Tuscany countryside. 3 hour easy drive to Venice-stayed 2 nights there. Excellent hotel. Friendly staff, clean, good sized rooms and reasonable price. 15 min walk into Lucca is easy. Maria on reception desk most helpful.

This is really a business hotel 15mins walk outside Lucca. Very easy parking and stylish rooms. AC and free internet. Good selection for breakfast. We walked into Lucca on the first evening (pleasant and felt 15 mins) and hired bikes from the hotel the second day (10 euros) and cycled around the walls and the backstreets. Wonderful!

Room Tip: No noise even from MacDonalds drive in!

A family of four doing a self drive holiday - we have no complaints, handy to Lucca either by foot or bike hire. The breakfast was superb with plenty of choices. The fact that we were 2 adults and 2 teenagers, they managed the 2 room setup perfectly. The checkin/check out staff were great and very helpful! A clean and modern hotel, would stay again!

We have stayed at this hotel a few times, usually in order to have an evening in Lucca before flying home from Pisa. It serves our purposes very well.
A modern efficient structure, with good rooms and bathrooms. I have no preference about rooms,as none of them have views worth looking at. The point of this hote
Is that it is very well located for arriving and departing, has plenty of parking and is within reach of Lucca. About 20 mins away on foot, but if your feet are hurting, like mine, you can take a hotel bike or your car, which ca be parked close to the town Walls. For dinner, you can go into town or like we did, walk five minutes to a local neighbourhood trattoria where you dine like kings for a modest sum. Ours had even home made gelati.
Down sides. Not really that it backs on to a drive in Golden Arches, nor that it is tricky to find how to drive up when it is clearly visible from the autostrada exit.
No, this last time it was just a bit not quite trying hard enough. Wifi access that did not quite work, a restaurant with no visible staff at 1 pm and about 8 or 10 hungry customers, a coffee machine at breakfast that delivered literally tepid coffee and a toilet in our ensuite that had not been flushed out. Oh, and really poor choices at breakfast. Really who wants squashed pre made ham sandwiches, unless they are doing that annoying thing of making up lunch to go.
We will probably go back, despite all this for the good reasons outlined above, but not for long unless these issues are sorted out.

Room Tip: Just take the standard room!

This hotel is easy for parking, clean and staff was great! Lucca was stop for one night on our way to Cortona area. So glad we chose this Hotel. Thanks for a restful night! Lucca is not the prettiest City, the OLD CITY is interesting , walk there through ..town that is a bit run down but lots to do behind those old walls!
