“Best experience in Tuscany!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

It's not often that a restaurant gets my 5 stars, but this one is truly deserving it! The atmosphere, the cuisine, the attention to details, the chef, all made it a great 3 hours experience!

We started with the chef starters (10euros for about 6 starters per person), which were amazing! A lot of sea food inspiration. We continued with the homemade pastas (10 euros per plate), and finished off with canolli for desert. We also had a bottle of wine, which was very good.

Also, the restaurant only takes reservations for 1 seating per night, so make sure to reserve in advance. The owner/chef was very friendly and knowledgeable of the food and wine. We would go back all the way to Lucca just to experience it all over again!

THANK YOU PASQUALE!

“Place to go back to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

We had dinner here in september 2011 when the place just opened, and there was no entry at tripadvisor yet, now one year later we went back and had again the best meal in Toscany. The chef has earned at least 2 stars, and every dish he makes, i'm sure, pasquale will find a matching wine. We had the selection of starters, great tasting of what a little kitchen can produce.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

The entree of caponata was a great taste - partner & I shared this and was a good decision. The ravioli stuffed with porcini was my main dish and without a doubt it was the best pasta I have ever eaten. Desert was a canolo (not sure of spelling) and again very nice.
The owner Pasquale was attentive but very busy, running from table to table...a head spinner!
Would recommend this restaurant highly for its great food (we didn't drink wine this night).

“A lovely little find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

First things first, the name De Pasquale is not clear on the front of the restaurant - it is actually part of a few other words, so look at the board carefully to avoid confusion. The Trip Advisor stickers are a good give-away though.

On the first night, we could not get into this restaurant but Pasquale apologised for this and made some good alternative suggestions. However, we booked for the night after and were not disappointed! We sat in the courtyard behind the restaurant and had wonderful, friendly and helpful service. The wine recommendations were excellent (Pasquale says that if he sees any of his wines in a supermarket, he removes them from his wine list) and the meals we selected were packed with flavour. The restaurant is Sicilian/Tuscan and the flavours of the food lived up to this tremendously. We ordered antipasti and a primi before daring to go any further and the restaurant were very flexible about this. We did decide to go for second and asked for medium rare lamb; the only fault was that this came back very rare and, as a result, was cold. We had been so happy with the service and rest of the meal that we decided not to complain.

Undoubtedly, one to put on the list and it was healthy to see locals in the restaurant too.

“The best dining experience of our first 10 days!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012 via mobile

This is a very easy review to write. We trusted the previous writers and went to this out of the beaten path restaurant in Lucca. Pasquale greated us, seated us, helped us with our wine & food selections, told us the history of his restaurant and presented us with a complimentary Lemonshello before we headed home. The food and wine are off the charts! We started with his six plate appetizer for two, followed that with the linguini with shrimp & pecorino and had the filet with balsamic reduction. He recommended a Rosso di Montalchino to start and a Brunello with the steak.

One year ago this out of the beaten path restaurant was a Chinese restaurant. The decor reveals the 150 year old brick history of the building. They have ten tables and only do one seating per table... Do not go there if you are in a hurry. This is a place for a tow hour gastronomic experience like you will not find any place else. The chef is Sicilian and there are but two others that take care of your needs both Pascuale and the young girl who assists him have a great attitude and work their buts off to see to it that every detail is attended to.

Pascuale is Napolitano, raised in Switzerland and now the proprieter of this great Italian restaurant. Make your reservation because it's only open in the evenings. Their website does not have the phone number... Tel 0583-496506 cell 335-1772505

I promise you will love this quaint little place!
