“A hidden gem.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

The first time in Lucca I spotted this marvelous place from the wall, a quick meander into the town and this was a serene haven. Very much worth a look.

“Great corner of Lucca”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

An amazing find in the top corner of Lucca - some interesting history into the Pfanner family house and gardens. Very reasonable to enter and a hour or so peaceful time- good to seek out!

“Beautiful garden!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

Visited with my wife on a sunny Sunday afternoon in May. House bit is boring except for the view of the garden from the top of the stairs!
Garden is almost perfect. Contains all the ingredients to create a relaxing and enjoyable experience, lemon trees complete with blossom and fresh new lemons, Roman statues, fountain, roses, weathered terracotta pots, lush lawns, beautiful vistas and secluded seating. It even has a toilet tucked away in the corner, useful if the fountain triggers off the old personal plumbing problem!!
It is compact, very clean and all plants and borders are immaculately maintained. It was also very quiet and a welcome retreat from the bustling crowds on the street.
Altogether a very satisfying experience but wouldn't bother with the house next time.
If visiting Lucca recommend you take an hour to relax here. You will not be sorry!

“Lovely garden and palace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

This was a lovely place to visit and sit for a while in the garden amongst the orange trees and statues. There was also a fascinating display of old medical and surgical equipment.

“Pfanner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

The most gorgeous place I've ever been. The house isn't too much, but the gardens are fabulous. Don't miss it.
