We were recommended to try this restaurant as it was supposed to be really good. And we were certainly not disappointed. We tried a 4 course fish and a meat menu which were both excellent. Very tasty, very well prepared and using very fresh ingredients. Especially tastefull was the polenta with Bacalau, the salad made from local greens and a starter made from tongue. The staff was very friendly, took all the time to explain the menu which is only in Italian and we got an extensive lesson in local white wines from the owner.
Ver much against our normal practice we went back to the restaurant two days later as we were curious what else they could offer. Again we got really great food. Specially notable this time was the chocolate pasta with Parmezan and Oxtail. Also the Selery soup with mussels and the Eal. I ended with a tart tatin which was really the best I ever ate.
All in all another great experience, one for which I will make a detour over Lucca whenever appropriate.
