“A great place to relax in Lucca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Arianna and her mother made us incredibly welcome at their B and B just outside the walls of Lucca. In fact, their breakfasts are the best I've had in three months of travelling. The residence is only ten minutes from the city walls, the rooms are spotlessly clean and there's a great back terrace for relaxing. Arianna is delightful and spot on with her helpful hints about the area.

My wife and I stayed for one night in September and it was very enjoyable. The B&B is decorated very well and the rooms are excellent value for money. The manager Arianna was lovely, very helpful and friendly. Finally the breakfast was very tasty and all freshly prepared by Arianna's mother. Excellent value for money. Have a great trip.

This was my second visit. This B&B is in a house owned by the family for more than 100 years. It is beautifully decorated with an olive tree out front and a patio in the back. What's outstanding is Arianna, the manager and daughter of the owners. She is so gracious and friendly. Also, the sweets for breakfast are prepared by Arianna's mother. Yummy!

Room Tip: Rooms are quieter in the front of the house.

Lovely B&B and it was run with warmth and friendliness. The room was spacious and clean. No complaints in that department. The issues I had were the noisy neighbors in the evenings as it is situated in a suburban area. As we were getting ready to sleep, you could hear the neighbors coming and going as we had to sleep with our windows open for ventilation. If there was a fan or air conditioning, we could have slept with the windows closed. A plus would have been wifi but unfortunately there was none.

The owner and Mum are lovely people. The rooms are big enough and breakfast good. They allow you to use the kitchen and fridge. The place is not too far from the walls and has a big supermarket 100m away.
However the room has no air-conditioner or fan and gets very warm, you must open the window for air and this leaves you at the mercy of the outside noise. We had the loud neighbor next door at 1pm, the dogs at 3pm and the rooster at 5pm.!!!
Also no internet or credit card facility. In this decade they need to update a few things before I would return.

My girlfriend and I stayed for a week in early July 2012 and loved our stay. The staff couldn't be more helpful, rooms are large, clean and comfortable, and it is ideally located just a few minutes outside of the walled city itself, making both the city and the railway station easy to reach.

A couple of pointers about the B&B that I wouldn't say were complaints but are things to be aware of when booking: the rooms do not have air conditioning, although the windows are shuttered and the staff very helpfully gave us a fan to help keep our room cool, and the road next to the B&B is occasionally busy in the evenings.

Overall we had a great stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the B&B to anyone looking to stay in Lucca!

We stayed for a week in early July 2012 and had a lovely time. Arianna and her mother are both charming and very helpful. Although we speak some Italian, they were kind enough to help us along in their excellent English to inform us about the local area and places that we might visit.

Our room was very comfortable and both it and the ensuite bathroom were spotless. Although there is no air-conditioning, we were given a fan and found this was fine. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Although there is a small courtyard outside to sit in, we could have used a little space to sit & relax as well in the property. The beds are comfortable but after 7 days we found our back hurt a little, and the road noise is audible although this was in the summer time with the windows open fully.

We thought it was excellent value for our little holiday and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, as well as to book directly. The walk to Lucca is short at under ten minutes, with both a bridge that goes over the train tracks and an underpass that is open 24 hours as part of the train station making the distance even shorter.

Lucca is wonderful!
