Views as far as the eye can see! My husband David and I are luxury travel planners with a true passion for extraordinary hotels that offer the ultimate vacation experience and I can say the Albergo Villa Casanova is one of the most delightful five-star hotels we have visited. The hotel is a renovated 18th century farmhouse nested amid 360 scenic acres in the heart of Tuscany. The beauty within emanates the labor of love that created the breathtaking villa, private chapel, and fourteen luxury suites. The attention to detail is exceptional, offering magnificent views from the Lucca valley stretching to the sea and Torre del Lago, the home of Puccini. The suites are over-sized and the epitome of luxury with marbled bathrooms, rainfall showers, and deep, custom-made baths positioned to highlight the panoramic views. We are avid road bicyclists and this enchanting villa is the perfect starting point for fun and easy excursions into the walled town of Lucca, as well as long flat roads to the beach! For a more vigorous ride, guests can go through hilly terrain strewn with olive trees, vineyards, and ancient hamlets. We had a delightful time making our own pizza with other guests and staff in a full restored, original wood fired oven! Whether it’s exhilarating bike rides or a lounge by the pool, the Tuscan sun and charm of the villa will envelope your every moment.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Albergo Villa Casanova is the result of a complete renovation of an 18th-century Tuscan farmhouse set in 360 acres of mixed woodland just ten minutes from Lucca. Newly reopened in December 2009, Albergo Villa Casanova is now a distinctive and relaxed, luxury boutique hotel with 14 incredibly spacious suites, restaurant, magnificent terraces, infinity swimming pool and tennis court.
