“Romantic Lucca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

This quaint little B&B Had all the whimsey and charm of the photos it posted. It's off a main square and centrally located so everything is in walking distance. We were 2 couples enjoying Valentine weekend in Tuscany and this was a great place to stay. Our host was so helpful and even stayed on the phone with us since we were a bit lost trying to find out way through the one way limited access streets. It was worth searching for! Our room was large, very whimsically romantic, spacious and very clean with a nice modern bathroom. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and we were able to leave our bags on the next day while we explored the city some more. Worth a return visit for sure!

This was our last stay of our travels around Italy and i really wanted to end on a high. We certainly did!

This place is beautiful. So romantic and quaint with its frescos and charming features. Our room was a fair size and immaculate, we loved the small details like the caged lights and helmet side lamps. The shower was great and the bathroom was perfect and clean.

The aircon was a great plus and the television has a wide selection of channels. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic for a small continental style; selections of pastries and breads with coffees made to order. The lady who ran the B&B was so friendly and helpful and she obviously took great pride in her work.

Fantastic little gem right in the heart of Lucca. I would recommend to anyone!

Within walking from railway station and central to the walled city of Lucca. Reception and restaurant staff, all the same helpful lady, were helpful and happy to respond to any requests. Rooms are very medieval in décor, we had room 5 all in orange! This room faced onto the street and there was some noise at the start of the working day. Not that it spoiled our stay. All areas of the hotel were clean and maintained that way throughout our two night stay. The breakfast menu provided a range of typical cold European selections e.g. meats, cheeses and pastries. Hot drinks being available all day in the breakfast area on floor 1. We stayed here based on recommendations from our own families and their friends.

Room Tip: Quirky location, take care not to pass it by looking for an grand entrance.

We loved the one night that we stayed at this B&B. Excellent location for touring Lucca. Near all the main attractions and restaurants. We loved Lucca - highlight of our trip. Would stay longer next time. This is a lovely B&B and the hospitality first class. Rooms a little quirky which added to its charm. The lady who looked after it was very accommodating regarding arrival and departure times. would definitely recommend as an interesting venue - bathroom was small but the decor of the room made up for it. would revisit on next trip. Good value for money

We've been in this marvelous place for two days and we were amazed from the first till the very last moment.
The building - and rooms inside - are decorated very nicely, making it look like an ancient castle: furniture hugely contribute to this idea, nonetheless everything is quite uncomplicated.
Breakfast is amazing, offering many local specialties (buccellato, torta alle erbe, ...).
Staff is very kind and accomodating.

Room Tip: Every room is quite silent and they all have free Wi-fi. Maybe staying upstairs (2nd floor) can res...

We stayed 3 nights at this B&B, situated right in the heart of Lucca and in a lovely safe area to walk around. We were in Room 3 which was small but quite adequate - however the murals and furnishings made up for this - having so much character. Loved the medieval theme and the chain helmut bedside lights. The bathroom is also small but the shower is ok and nice thick towels with great heating. The whole place was spotless and smelled wonderful. There is a lovely little breakfast area on 1st floor, breakfast was typical Italian but maybe some freshly sliced fruit would be good.
Simone was very helpful, giving us all the info we needed and recommendations on restaurants. etc. Make sure you eat at Leos Trattoria - great value. Also did a train trip to Pisa which is only about half hour away.

Room Tip: Room 3 on 2nd floor is a corner room and has 2 windows - the rooms on 1st floor open onto the breakf...

We choose this hotel because of its original room decoration. And the room is exactly as on pictures.
Very, very small bathrooms and no hot water (we were there at the end of October), so we couldn't take a shower.
As were were there for one night only, it was annoying , but not a big problem.

The room we get just was behind the dining room, so when other guests start having breakfast at something around 6.30am and start talking at the top of their voices it became not possible to sleep at all, we could hear every word and every move of ferry chairs.
As we have been wake up anyway, we decided to use morning time to walk around the city and I made a huge mistake, checking out and left our luggage near at the stairs. When we came back to the hotel at 11 am (the official checking out time) and asked if child can use a bathroom, we get refuse, which I find strange, ungentle and unfriendly.
Of course it's our private situation, but I never recommend this hotel to any of my friends and next time in Lucca I definitely will go to other place.
