“One of the really good places”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We had three nights here. We could have stayed longer. We have had 3 trips to Italy over the last few years and this hotel is the best Italian accomadation we have had, and would be in the top group of all the places we have stayed anywhere.

It is a short walk from the railway station, however read the simple instructions clearly as we ended on top of the wall when we should have just come through the city gate :) Oh well, never mind it was our mistake. (My wife was holding the map the wrong way) The staff were friendly and welcoming. First impression of the room was "great" and closer inspection held that up.

It was roomy, clean, comfortable and I wanted to take the bathroom home. Great breakfast. It is well located, although most things are "handy" in Lucca.

The room is bright during the day, quiet and dark at night. Suburb bed. I would recommend this place and if lucky enough to return to Lucca would pick it straight away.

Having recently returned from a 10 day visit around Tuscany this was by far the best B&B we stayed it. Location excellent, clean room with bed having tempur mattress, great breakfast, friendly genuine warm members of staff. Will certainly return:)

My daughters and I stay here in June 2013 and found it very suitable. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean modern and spacious. The B&B is within the city walls but make sure you know exactly where the B&B is - we got lost we phoned the B&B and they came to get us, they were very helpful.

Stayed in Il seminario 2 for two nights. Friendly, warm staff greeted us and showed us to our comfortable room. Within walking distance of everything that is necessary to see in Luca. lovely breakfast in the sun! The only downfall was building works taking place outside that started early and meant no holiday sleep ins or relaxing peaceful breakfasts. Overall, I highly recommend it.

We stayed here for two nights during a week long trip to Tuscany and Rome. Of the 4 places we stayed during the trip, Il Seminario was the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are nicely decorated, modern and clean, and the location is perfect for exploring Lucca itself and for getting to the train station. The breakfast was the best of the trip, especially the indulgent pastries. We had a great stay here and would definitely visit again without hesitation.

Anything within the walls of Lucca is within walking distance of the town's sights and restaurants. This place is inside the walls, and offered a large, clean room, decent breakfast and incredibly friendly staff. Paolo, Irene and Manuela made the stay very pleasant, and Paolo directed us to some exceptional restaurants, including Cantine Bernardini (be sure to go there). We highly recommend this B&B, and Lucca was our favorite town during a 12-day visit to Italy. We stayed in Lucca three nights and loved it.

location was convenient, probably a 10 minute walk to piazza anfiteatro,
easy to find from thetrain station and we hired a car whilst there and found driving to and from simple with free parking on location. We stayed 3 days and did day drips to Pisa and the Apuane Alps.
rooms were clean and the breakfast was the most comprehensive we had in any B and B in Italy.
Paolo is the manager, but we dealt mostly with Manuela and Irena who were both extremely willing to help and provide information. We stayed in the Puccini room which was more than big enough for a couple so it would be even better value in one of the double rooms.
