We have been in this restaurant on Good Friday inspired by other reviews on Tripadvisor... we usually visit different restaurants and wine shops in our city and near by, just to try to have a better overview on food and wine panorama in Livorno.
The place is small, but cosy and well-furnished and service is good.
We have been welcomed with a small legumes soup ( offered by the Chef ).
The waiter took also homemade bread with Curry and buckwheat with linseeds.
I took as first dish gnocchi with mussels, cubed bacon and Taleggio Cheese cream and as a second dish salmon with mozzarella cream and jam. The combination was particular, but really good.
My boyfriend took Tagliolini with sea urchins, which were really fresh and tasty and rock fish fillet cooked in wrapped with vegetables.
We took a white wine typical of the Torino area ( which we discovered to be the favourite one of the Chef )
The dessert was a Banana Panna Cotta with chocolate, which was really delicious - personally I do not like very much banana desserts, but that one was really great - together with a glass of a sweet wine.
We think price for the whole dinner was fair ( 35 € / person ), also considering the prices of other fish restaurants in Livorno
We had a small conversation with the Chef after the dinner, who came at our table to understand if everything was ok and to know our opinion on the food we had. Actually he did this for all the people who had the dinner in the restaurant. We understood he is very passionate and try to build something with a different cooking concept from what we have tasted till now in our area.
It is really worth having a dinner here!!!
