Found this restaurant around the corner from our hotel. Ok, so Livorno is not the best place in Tuscany but this was certainly the best meal, particularly as it was one of the cheapest too.
The atmosphere was very welcoming as the waitresses were extremely friendly. We had a seafood starter to share, which was fresh and delicious, and then a primo pasta plate each, sharing a salad. Top that off with an absolutely delicious cheescake and strong tiramisu, and it was just nice.
The only downside is that I'm unlikely ever to be back in the city, but if you are, I strongly recommend it.
