“Once is enough”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

For 100 euro a night you should expect more in a bungalow. No beach - dangerous entering because of sharp stones, swimming-pool full of out of resort guests, crowded with tents, camping-wans, noisy - trains passing by, have to cross busy highway to get to the parking-lot. For one week we (two persons) had only three towels per person, had to take our waste to the high-way, where the containers are. Fridge was damaged, dirty and full of ice!
Stayed from 12 - 19. july 2012.

Room Tip: we had apt. nr. 7 - it had some more space in the garden, then the others behind us. Also good is nr...

“"We were satisfied with what we got!"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

We are a family of 4 (two children age 17 and 14) and we go camping almost each summer (mainly in Croatia), so we have seen the good and the bad. We also have seen good (4* and up) and not so good hotels. This year we didn't feel like doing the whole tent thing, so we decided on looking for a mobile home. This being a last minute decision we didn't have much choice in the destination, everything was already booked in most of Italy. After finding one free mobile home in the Miramare Camp we booked it. After that we read the reviews which scared us, but it was too late to turn back. We were pleasantly surprised. The mobile home was clean, with two bathrooms (big advantage with two big kids). The beds were comfortable, bed linen and towels were rented at a reasonable price. Though there is a train track and busy road adjacent to the camp site, we didn't find it as noisy as expected. The beach is not a sandy beach, but a rocky one, which is the norm for this part of Italy. We enjoyed the sea but if you don't have anything on your feet you may hurt yourself on the rocks. You can rent chairs and umbrellas if you wish. If you don't want to cook the restaurant on the premises serves a variety of meals. We decided to go for half-board, the food was good, the service friendly. The prices were not more than the average in that area. In general it can be said that Italy is fairly expensive especially during the high season. The campsite has a market which sells the basic necessities. We found a greater selection and more variety for less in the supermarkets of Livorno. Wifi internet connection can be rented but, the connection gets bad the farther away you go from the main buildings. The campsite is a good starting point to visit Livorno, Pisa and Firenze (be prepared to stand on long lines to get into museums, churches etc.) . I don't know about the the facilities used by those with tents, as we had our own, but all in all we were satisfied with what we got. So if you are looking for a mobile home in this area I believe that you will get what is expected for the price payed, just book in time or else forget it.

“Noisy site next to main road, owners mean with facilities”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2010

We camped there for 10 nights - we were fooled by their website and wish we hadnt! It is mainly used as a transit stop from south Italy to the north with a large local population using the facilities at the weekend. There are a large number of mobile homes on site. We did not see these. Others have spoken of the lack of beach - typical of this area so not an issue for me. The real issues are that the site is adjecent to the main road and very noisy and as a transit site there are losts of 'young travellers' who seem to stay up all night keeping you awake. Other things annoying: Unless you have a mobile home the use of the swimming pool is 0.50c per person per time and the showers are subject to a card meter system that they give you. Whilst this is free, their allowance is 1 shower per person per day and when we asked for more the staff were somewhat abrupt though they eventually gave out more cards. Watch you bill on departure. Despite booking on internet with children's names and date of birth they tried to charrge us full adult rate until queried. Good points - there is a very nice, reasonably priced resurant on the site. We used the site to do cultural sites such as Pisa, Florence and Lucca - all well worth visiting.

Buongiorno Monica,
