A lovely looking hotel. Decor very tasteful. Staff very helpful. We had an executive room with a sea view and it was worth it. Wifi easy to use and free. Views stunning especially from the 5th floor swimming pool. All very clean. Nice having breakfast on the terrace. There are restaurants nearby and the bus stops outside. Useful for travel as well - easy to get to Pisa airport, Pisa town and Florence. We also went to Lucca on the train. Enjoyed trip around the messi. Lovely holiday

Room Tip: Have a sea view it's worth it

I stayed at the NH Grand Palazzo on the 4th of July and as it was my auntie Birthday, i made a reservation on their Terrace Restaurant to celebrate.

Hotel was just beautiful, excellent service and rooms were clean, tidy and tastefully decorated.

Regarding the Restaurant, the dinner I booked for my family was just OUTSTANDING! Excellent service, tasteful food (7 course dinner) and more than a fare price. Our table was set up overlooking the see and and their waiters were very professional! My family and I were overwhelmed and pleasantly surprised!!!

Beautiful hotel, breakfast is fantastic and the staff are so friendly + friendly.
The pool is amazing with its view. However it does need repainting/re varnishing where the pool is. It's the only part I feel did let the hotel down. Do take the sea view upgrade room as the view is worth the extra money. The bus stop is outside the hotel and is every 15 mins for under 2€s! Bargain! This bus also goes into town and the station!
The room was huge and had a lovely bathroom which was luxurious!
This is a great hotel!!

Room Tip: Pay extra for room with sea view...it's worth it!!

The hotel is situated on the sea front. I stayed in a executive suite with a sea view. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, but the services of the hotel were poor. For example when we checked in the receptionist gave us a standard room instead of an executive suite. There were no towels at the pool on the top of the hotel and in the gym only used towels and plastic glasses for water were available. The breakfast was good and varied. In my opinion the hotel is a 4 star hotel.

We stayed for one night only as we were flying out of Pisa the morning after. We were driving and had no problem parking in front of the hotel.

The hotel is located across the street from the sea and a sun-bathing/swimming pier complex. If you are looking for a beach location, this is not it but then I doubt most of Livorno is anyways. Restaurants and shops can be found in the neighbourhood and along the oceanfront walk.

The room (we were on the third floor) was great with sufficient space (not always a feature in Europe) and a great bathroom with a tub and a large walk-in shower. The room was very clean and very quiet. I am often a light sleeper but was not disturbed a single time during the night.

The roof top restaurant/bar is ok, not spectacular but not a bad choice, and overlooks the ocean. We did not try the pool located on the same terrace or the spa, but it did look nice enough and had showers next to it.

The breakfast in the morning is served in the downstairs breakfast room/terrace and was pretty standard for this type of hotel with plenty of choice. It was a little annoying to have to queue to get coffee from a machine, but that is on balance a very minor issue.

We would be happy to stay again.

You won't regret it. We had adjoining rooms 240 and 241 and just loved it. Not exactly what you'd expect from 5 stars in, say, London or New York, but entirely pleasant. And you can't beat the location. The lack of a taxi rank is a bit strange, and 15 Euros to/from the station seemed a tad rich, especially when 20 gets a family of four to Pisa and back on the train, but was a very minor oddity.

We stayed here for one night before taking the ferry to Corsica.

The location was perfect for our needs, as the hotel is right on the seafront and only 5-10mins drive from the ferry port. Parking was outdoors, but inside a gate which was locked overnight.

The building itself is very grand from the outside, and still impressive as we went inside. We took a room facing the courtyard at the back, which was very peaceful, but which sacrificed the view of the sea. The room was very clean, and a decent size. Same goes for the bathroom.

There were a couple of downsides however.
- The roof garden, whilst pleasant, was pricey, and sitting outside presented guests with the added challenge of fighting off hungry seagulls and pigeons, intent on stealing food, even directly from the tables. We ate a starter between us, and two orange drinks, and the bill was higher than the whole meal for two that we had later on at a restaurant down the street.
- Also, we had an early morning ferry, and had to be away before the 7am start of breakfast. The "early breakfast" consisted of prepackaged jam-filled croissants, prepackaged mini-"toasts", apples, fruit juice, and access to a coffee-machine. Whilst it staved off the hunger until we got onto the boat, it wasn't a breakfast in keeping with a hotel this grand.

Overall, despite the downsides mentioned, the hotel stay was very pleasant, and with the convenience of its location, we would not hesitate to stay there again.
