“Our visit to Florence”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

We stayed at this hotel May 2013, the location is nice overlooking Florence, our room was very clean but we did have a problem with no not water however once we mentioned it at reception this was soon sorted out. Also the room was cold and we asked for heating but this was not possible as it had been turned of and they had no potable heaters, so the room was slightly uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. The swimming pool was covered so not in use which I would have liked to have known about before we booked.
I feel this hotel is overpriced.

Dear Guest ,

thank you very much for your stay and for taking your time to write a review. Unfortunately the huge amounts of rain have a bit ruined our plans for the opening of the swimming pool ; we apologize for this even though weather was quite unpredictable.
I hope to having you here again with a nicer weather which probably would make you slightly change idea regading the value of the place.
My very best regards

Recently returned from our stay at this Hotel. On the positive side, the hotel has beautiful views of Florence and is in a quiet location away from the city hustle and bustle. The staff was pleasant although not as helpful as the reviews I read made it seem. It is not very convenient to get to and from the hotel into Florence or the train station. I was under the mis-impression (my mistake) that the hotel had a shuttle bus to Florence. There is only a city bus that doesn't go directly where you may want to go (like the train station). Taxis to and from are very expensive. The room was adequate but bathroom was dated and small. The breakfast was not very good. Eggs are powdered eggs floating in water.
Overall, we did not feel that this Hotel was worth the expensive price-tag.

We stayed three nights here to visit Florence. The hotel has a good location, right next to the bus stop with buses every twenty minutes from Fiesole to Florence. The hotel is not in the centre of Fiesole but you can catch a bus up to the village to eat in the evenings and walk back down the hill. It has a lovely terrace with fantastic views over the city of Florence.
The room and bathroom were very small (hardly enough room to walk round the bed) and there was noise from outside the rooms and from adjacent rooms.
The breakfast was Ok but probably the least exciting or extensive of all 5 hotels we stayed at in Italy. Service also seemed non existant as we sat on the terrace most early evenings and although would have liked a cup of tea, no staff were evident to ask for one.
This was also the most expensive hotel we stayed in, so compared to the others not good value for money, as the room and breakfast were the most inferior. Presumably a bigger room would be more money but may be worth considering. The ease of travel in to Florence and not having to park in the city are big plus points.
If you are in Florence for two or three days buy a Firenze card ( 50 Euros). Its free access to all sites, museums and galleries, queue jumping possible and free bus use, including from Fiesole for 72 hours. Order online in UK and pick up when you arrive at tourist office. Well worth the money if you are intending visiting the sites and it saves so much queueing time.

Room Tip: Consider paying extra for a bigger room.

Dear Guest,

thank you very much for your stay. We took note of your remarks which are aalways very useful in order to improve our services , and we feel sorry if you did not entirely enjoy your stay.
I moreover feel sorry to hear you did not appreciate the breakfast since our goal is to give some particular and unexpected products for example salmon, prosecco which are difficult to find in 4 star hotels .
I send you our best regards fro a finally sunny Fiesole.

Stayed here in April/May 2013. Lovely boutique style hotel which has views over the city of Florence. 800 metres from Fiesole itself. We had a deluxe room which was beautifully appointed. Outside on the verandah was a bit noisy with traffic fairly constant. Inside you could hear the people next door fairly easily. Staff were fantastic and nothing was a trouble. Dinner was fairly expensive and I ordered pumpkin ravioli which I couldn't eat, as it had a really awful flavour. My husband ate it and enjoyed it, but when they came to take our plates away he commented to the waitress and the chef and the maitre'd came out to find out why. They were most apologetic and brought out two plates of the calamari which was delicious. On further investigation we found that the pumpkin ravioli or the sauce had amaretto in it, which I dislike intensely. It was not mentioned on the menu rundown, so that was a bit disappointing. We also ate outside on the terrace and found the service exceptionally slow as they dealt with the people inside. Once they found a problem it was absolutely no trouble to rectify it. Despite my comments, it really was a beautiful place to stay and we would definitely stay there again. It is easy to catch the Number 7 bus which comes on average about every 20 minutes and takes you in to San Marco's piazza which is a good central spot.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room which had a verandah that was very nice to sit on and enjoy the view of Florenc...

26 guests at my son's wedding in October 2012 stayed at the hotel and had the time of their lives. We were all greeted warmly but Christina and Danielle whose goal was to make our stay perfect. The location provides easy access to a public bus stop which takes you inexpensively up the hill to the town of Fiesole or down the hill to the city centre of Firenze. Breakfast room was lovely with the opportunity to dine on the outdoor terrace weather permitting. We are forever grateful to the wedding planner who suggested this Hotel for our stay.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

We stayed at Vila Fiesole in November 2012. This was our third visit to Florence and this time we really wanted to stay in Fiesole. (I had stayed in Piazza Signoria in the centre of Florence on one visit and hardly got any sleep with bin men collecting rubbish and bottles along with late night party goers in the square.) I didn't want to repeat that again, so we choose Fiesole.

Fiesole is a beautiful village with amazing views over Florence but only a very short (10 mins) bus ride to the centre of Florence. We choose Villa Fiesole as it is an elegant boutique hotel with personel service and we wanted to be sure of a good nights sleep. The tradition feel of hotel was also a draw. Everything about our stay here was perfect.

The staff were excellent, friendly, professional and welcoming at the same time. Special thanks to Gugo and Daniele on the front desk and the attentive lady serving the wonderful breakfast in the dining room. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our room was luxurious with every attention to detail, a big comfy bed with splendid cotton linens and an immaculate marble bathroom with as much hot water as one needed. We had a large terrace with an amazing view over Florence. We drank Prosecco on our terrace and gazed over Florence and the green hills below. We were impressed.

Arriving by car we took advantage of the Free Parking facility and took the bus into the centre each morning. Buses run frequently and the stop is just outside the hotel. We enjoyed the 10 minute ride down through the pretty hills to the centre of Old Florence. We visited the Ufizzi Gallery which we strongly recommend along with the Pitti Palace. We had light lunches after our large breakfast set us up for the day.

Returning in the early evening to our oasis in Villa Fiesole was a delight after a full day in Florence. I was able check my emails on the Free WIFI offered by the hotel and the use of a lap top set up in the lounge was an added benefit.

We ate at two restaurants in the village of Fiesole which were both kindly recommended to us by the hotel staff. We had our best meals of our trip in Italy there, Terraza 45 and Il Polpa. We ate traditional Tuscan meals and local red wines, all delicious and far better value than in Florence. We enjoyed the authentic feel in Fiesole, meeting the locals in the little cafes and patisseries. We did meet other guests who had eaten in the hotel restaurant and they gave good reports.

We felt pampered and thoroughly relaxed after our stay at Villa Fiesole and I will certainly choose to stay in Fiesole again over the centre of Florence any day. Indeed we hope to return again to Hotel Villa Fiesole to celebrate my husbands special birthday next year. Thank you again everyone at Villa Fiesole for making our trip so perfect.

Luxurious and elegant hotel, between San Domenico and Fiesole. The place is good for a romantic getaway. The service is attentive and the rooms are bright, nicely furnished, with bathrooms which are not too small. Yet, a bit pricey.

Dear Guest ,

thank you very much for your stay and for taking to spend some words on our hotel.
We're glad to read you had a pleasant stay ; the condiderations regarding the price are personal so I don't want to argue about them .
Anyway I must highlight that our goal is to give a good product at a reasonable price considering those of Florence ; moreover offering a free parking we are quite sure makes our rates quite competitive.
Hoping to see you soon I thank you and send all our staff's best regards
