“Noble Castle Wine Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2008

My husband and I truly enjoyed the castle & wine tour - an experience not to be missed! We stayed 4 nights at La Limonaia and I booked this tour in advance via email with Giulio. We visited the castle, cellar, fermentation room and the elegant music room. Giulio provided the transportation which was fun and educational. He kindly stopped along the way so we could capture pictures of the Chianti region. The castle and grounds are absolutely beautiful. The lunch and wine tasting was incredible. The service was so exceptional we felt we didn't deserve it. We have so many fond memories of this experience that made us feel like a king & queen for the day!

“Cheese and Spice Tasting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2008

This review is for one of the Tuscan Gastronomic Experiences offered by Mr. Giulio Benuzzi, owner of the B&B La Limonaia.

On the evening of our arrival at La Limonaia B&B, my husband and I arranged for a Cheese and Spice tasting dinner. It was the perfect way to begin our honeymoon, especially as we were tired and arrived in the late afternoon, it was fantastic to relax at the beautiful B&B and then be treated to such a wonderful experience.

The experience consisted of 4 courses with accompanying wines presented by Giulio and his friend Pierre, a herbologist who grows and prepares all his own blends of amazing herbs & spices. Giulio presented plates of fresh cheese and Pierre selected and described the accompanying fresh spice. Each course was more delicious than the next and we both agree we have never experienced flavors and scents from spices quite like this before. We began with fresh mozzarrella accompanied by thyme. Then we moved on to pecorino with an herb blend, Goat cheese with flowers of fennel, and lastly (but not least) fried polenta with (sorry, the cheese name escapes me right now!) and red pepper. Each course was accompanied with delicious Tuscan wines and the meal ended with a delicious fruit tart.

Pierre is a master at what he does and listening to him explain the process of spice making and finding the right moment in everything made us appreciate the flavors all the more!

We highly reccommend this experience to food lovers who want a personalized, unique experience, off the beaten path, in Tuscany!

“The Wine Castle Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2008

Guilo provided my wife and I a wonderful tour of a private winery and castle. The owners happened to be there, and we had an incredible time. His tour prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend his services.

“truffle hunt and experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2008

What a wonderful host Giulio Benuzzi was on our truffle hunt. From the moment we entered his Land Rover he entertained us with wonderful stories from his experiences in the Tuscany Region. We next meet Marco and his wonderful dogs who quickly found some truffles. It was quite amazing how they were able to hunt the truffles in the ground. We then next traveled to the lovely town of Aghiari and sipped Prosecco in a lovely garden setting. Soon we traveled to a nearby location in Sansepolero at the il Convivio Ristornate. What a lovely 7course dinner they prepared for us. I will never forget Giulio's kindness and most gracious hospitality. He was so kind in my moment of panic when I found that my wallet and passport was missing. He telephoned the restaurant and they found it under the table. Know I could breath again. Thanks again Giulio you are the best.
Ciao.
Ellen

“Truffle hunting in Tuscany”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2008

Our group of four booked the truffle hunting experience managed by Giulio Benuzzi, the proprietor of La Limonaia in bella Tuscany. We were not disappointed. Giulio met up with us at a convenient spot and drove us to a forest outside of Arezzo where we met up with a lovely young man and his two very special truffle hunting dogs. We were thrilled to actually retrieve several handfuls of summer truffles the whole while learning everything you could every want to know about the delicious, elusive funghi. Our journey continued with a gorgeous walk through the beautiful village of Anghieri (with a bit of prosecco for refreshment) and a dinner prepared using our found treasures...course after course, one exceeding the next. The next day we realized that we had dropped a passport and some cash during the journey. Giulio helped us to identify the missing necessities which were at the restaurant...and we successfully retrieved all the next day. Don't hesitate to book this fabulous adventure.
