“Very good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

We were a group of 4 culinary students/ professional chefs (*read picky crowd) and we all loved the food. The wild boar ragu and veal with mushrooms were exceptional. My friend had a steak which he raved about and the panna cotta didn't contain gelatin (a rare and wonderful find in Italy).

It was a busy night when we went. The room seemed full of good cheer and the service was fine. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Enjoy

“Good basic food, free wifi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We went in for the bruschetta which was a nice snack. On another day whilst out shopping we wanted something quick and simple for lunch and ended up heading back there because it had free wifi and friendly staff.

“a great fine italian dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Great location, excellent food and value! Waiter was very good but they seemed to be a bit understaffed for how busy they were so this is why not top rating on service but overall excellent.

“Not as bad as some of the negative reviews suggest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

... but not excellent either. The atmosphere was OK the food focused on Tuscan specialties ranged from OK to good and the wine was very good, Service was rapid and attentive and the staff friendly and welcoming. The Tuscan soup was good, though I have not had it anywhere else yet and I suspect most places do it this well; the tagliatelle with Tuscan boar sauce was fine, though I had not sense that a Tuscan boar provided any novel flavors of special note; the Florentine tripe was quite good though not everyone would risk tripe --but they would be missing out. The Montalcino wine was very good and the total for two people came in at E90, which is not cheap but not a rip-off for what we had either. Not a tourist trap by any means and a welcoming environment for some new styles of food to us. We enjoyed it though are not sure we would go back [which is also true of Florence itself. Basically a tourist trap and little else. Too many tourists to feel that you are actually not in America]

“Good to the Last Drop!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We were looking for another restaurant but couldn't find it. That's okay, because we discovered this wonderful place. We were seated and served without any problems (I read other reviews later that had negative things to say). All of us got the traditional Tuscan soup. It was a large bowl and we ate every last bit of it. One note: the soup had extra black pepper in it, but it was so good that I just lived with the extra pepper. I'd get it again. Two of us ordered the house pasta (which is fettuccine with tuscan sausage, red pepper, tomato and parmesan shavings). It's the Best Pasta I've ever had! I'm sure the pasta was home-made. My husband got a linguine dish with seafood. He said it was good, but I think the house fettuccine was better.
I saw that others on Trip Advisor complained about the food and waiters. Our food and service were both excellent. If you want a fantastic fettuccine dish, and incredible soup, I highly recommend this restaurant.
