“Quiet place to enjoy Florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Stefano and Leonardo will take care of you in this great, quaint B&B close to the action in Florence. It's on the south side of the river, about 10 minute walk west of the gate. That means it's about 15-20 minutes to the Vecchio and about 15 to the SM Novella station. There are many bakeries, gelato stands and aperitif spots along the way. While this was great for us, it may be long for others, but after 3 days of going back and forth, my wife and i were fine and enjoyed returning to this cozy place each night!

The rooms were clean, well prepared, and quiet. The hosts were incredibly supportive - calling for advance tickets, restaurant recommendations, bus schedules, etc. It's important to know they both leave in the afternoons - it's not a 24-service hotel. When you come back at 7pm, your come back into the B*B with your key, into your room that's been made up, and a quiet atmosphere. THere are perhaps 4-6 rooms total but you'll only see guests in the morning for breakfast. You'll see them again in the morning and they're a quick phone call away but if you're high maintenance or need someone there 24/7, perhaps go elsewhere.

We'd stay here again and again if we could. Great people, great place, great beds, great service.

I highly recommend 1900 Artevita B&B during a visit to Florence. Stefano and Leonardo are so nice and accommodating, the rooms are wonderful, the breakfast is plentiful, and you won't find a better B&B for the price! It's a little far from the center of town, which was nice for getting away from the crowds and feeling a sense of local life in Florence.

Really good and decent location for walking to the railway station, tourist spots, visits to really nice and inexpensive local restaurants, parks and supermarket. The double glazing and double windows are an excellent facility ensuring quality sleep. Free Wifi connection was first class. Hosts Leonardo and Stefano are very accommodating, helpful and informative. A special note of thanks to Stefano who prepared an earlier than usual breakfast for us so that we can set off for our day excursion.

Buffet breakfast offers a good variety of cakes & bread (fresh and pre-packed), cereals and drinks but may consider providing some nice pastry and cold cuts. It would also be nice to be able to access English TV channels.

Room Tip: Bring adaptors. Do try the local restaurants recommended by the B&B.

the B&B is located in an old building, but the rooms are very beautiful and clean. the owners are very kind and breakfast is great. You can serve yourself and have breakfast directly in your room. we are a family of 4, with 2 child: the family room was big with a new bathroom.

This place is great - friendly, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated too. I love coming home and turning the key in the lock of the building and feeling like I am home. So much nicer than walking past a tired receptionist or night porter and that awkward feeling of whether you should say hello - it's simply coming home! Loved the high ceilings and wooden furniture. And, another important thing for me, the wifi works without a problem. I hate it when the wifi doesn't work in hotels. I like the location, it took me 10 mins to stroll to ponte vecchio. Florence can be noisy at night, it's nice to be in a quiet area

Room Tip: The hotel is STRICTLY non-smoking, which, even thought i am a smoker, I really appreciate, and prefe...

We had two large double rooms which were really clean and spacious with lots of wardrobe space, en-suite shower/toilet.The rooms have aircon/heating installed which is available to use if too cold or too warm. The breakfast is of a self serve buffet style which you eat in your room due to the lack of a dining room. This system although not ideal, seems to work alright, but there is nothing cooked or warm available. The establishment is situated on a bus route into the centre of the city, but we found it ok to walk there even though it takes a good half an hour to do so, so if you don't like walking this may not be ideal for you.
Overall, this B&B offered great value and very helpful and friendly owners and I would recommend it to couples and families alike .
