Cantinetta Antinori is a small boutique restaurant located on the ground and 1st floors of the Antinori Mansion in the historic center of Florence. The architecture is a great example of the mid-14C. A bulk of the seating is on the ground floor has a variety of tables and a dark wood bar. Upstairs is a small balcony seating possibly 20 people. Service is professional, friendly and punctual.
For wine, think about every wine from every Antinori estate worldwide. These can be ordered by the glass or by the bottle. We enjoyed one.
The food emphasized Tuscan dishes. We started with two primo piatto (carpaccio and pici pasta). The carpaccio had pistachios and combined with the beef had a wonderful taste.
For secondo piatto, we shared the Controfilletto di Bue Toscano alla Griglia con Patate Arrosto (Tuscan Entrecôte of beef from the grill with roast potatoes) and a local pork special. Both were very tasty and ample.
We finished with two desserts: classical Tiramisu and Castagnaccio (chestnut flour cake with ricotta cheese). My wife is still waxing poetic about the castagnaccio. It was wonderful.
Photos, though not being tasty, are attached to this review so the visual appeal of each of these dishes is realized.
This was our first time here and it was a wonderful experience. We will go back and look forward to it.
