We were a bit tired after traveling for about 14 hours with no sleep but arriving at immediately made us feel relaxed and "at home" in Florence. The staff speaks excellent English and is very welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. I took pictures out our window onto the narrow street as we were instantly immersed in the medieval feel of this gorgeous city. The location is really excellent. We enjoy walking and the Piazza Michelangelo is just up the hill from the hotel. We enjoyed watching the setting sun's glow reflected off the Arno River on our second night. Florence is a very walkable city and Silla is close to several bridges, including the Ponte Vecchio, so we walked everywhere from Silla. We also rented a car and Silla has a parking garage which is a huge plus.
As an aside, I'm not a coffee drinker but Silla's coffee was so delicious that I happily had coffee every morning.
We would happily stay at Silla for a month instead of three days!
