“Rooms are Nice, Modern Design and Feel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

The hotel is great for Business Travel, very close to the Tram, 5 Euros for 24 hour unlimited rides, brings you right to Santa Maria Novella Train Station.

This hotel reminds me of a Courtyard by Marriott, but with a better job of pulling off the Modern design. The room was nice, the bathroom was great, except if you are sharing a room, the glass door doesn't block out any sound (if you are using it at night while the other person is trying to sleep).

I used points, and was informed that as a Platinum my free breakfast didn't count as I used points, and that it would be 12 Euros each. I could have paid 88 Euros for the room, and gotten breakfast for free. The city of Florence has a tax of 1 Euro per Star, per person, per night. They claim this is a 4 star hotel. Sorry, it's far from it. I paid the city tax in Rome for 3 nights at the Rome Cavalieri and that was 6 Euros, this cost me 16. Sorry city of Florence, but you really need to re-evaluate what makes 4 stars.

The hotel was great, but if you are a Marriott Rewards Member, I would not waste the points, pay for this room with cash.

Room Tip: Don't use Marriott Rewards Points, pay cash. You will have to pay 12 Euros each for breakfast i...

Modern room and bathroom but very small. TV not modern though. They don't seem to have hair conditioner in any Italy hotel so bring if you need it.

The location is a good 15-20 min walk from any of the sights or shopping. Beware of dining in Florence---tons of tourist traps. Consult fodors, frommers or rick Steve's for recommendations.

LOOKS CAN BE SO DECEPTIVE. This hotel has all the humanity of a stainless steel cell. We found the room had a cold unwelcoming atmosphere. Very flashy to look at but not user friendly in any way. Our room was noisy and we did not like the location because it was literally the wrong side of the tracks. Most restaurants required a walk along and over busy roads. Not our first choice.

Room Tip: With all the choices in Florence, this cold architectural malformation could be eschewed.

Comfortable stay with professional, helpful and patient staff. Very clean and nice rooms for a good price! Especially appreciate the splendid bathrooms, which were clean and homely. Made my experience much more enjoyable after a long day of walking. Breakfast was great, lots to choose from. The restaurant and bar staff were excellent!

The location is not within the center of Florence, thus getting there requires some walking (not very pleasant in extreme hot summer temperatures).

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Monogram tour group. We were there a total of 3 nights/4 days. There were still some warm afternoons and evenings in early October, but the thermostat was programmed in such a way that we couldn't adjust the a/c as low as we would have liked, so we were forced to sleep with the window open. This caused two issues; we were eaten alive by mosquitos, and the hoards of people who parked outside of the hotel on the south side were quite rowdy and noisy around 2am EACH night when all of the restaurants and bars closed. If you stay here, make sure you get a room on the north side of the property where the sun isn't as intense, and there's less parking for the bar hoppers to awake you. The only other issue we had was with laundry sent out. It was promptly picked up and promised back the next afternoon. I still didn't have it at 6.30 pm, so I checked with the front desk. They told me it would be delivered "soon." I waited for another three hours, and was told my the front desk clerk, "I TOLD you it would be delivered to your room when ready." I politely reminded him that I was promised it by the afternoon, and it was now 9.30 in the evening. An hour later, I woke up to knocking at my door with the delivery of my clothes. I just thought the rudeness was unnecessary, especially since I paying 41 euro for 4 articles to be laundered, and they DID promise it in the afternoon. The rest of our tour group stayed closer to the city center in an old charming hotel away from traffic noise. I like to walk, but I would recommend something closer to the city center, because this one sits on the far outskirts.

Room Tip: As previously mentioned, get a room on the north side of the property that faces a residential area...

We stayed two nights and nearly three full days here and while the location is not in the center part of downtown - it is a very easy and delightful 20-25 min walk to the Duomo area. We walked from the central train station to the hotel in about 20 min. In the late evening and night, the area around the hotel was very quiet when compared to walking in the center part of Florence. We preferred the respite since taking a bus or taxi was very easy and quick.

The check-in process was very quick and the personnel were friendly. The room was modern and spacious (especially for European standards). However the bathroom door was frosted glass that did not completely go to the walls so so it did not exactly provide the most privacy. The minibar was sufficiently stocked and the wifi was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and an extra rollaway bed had already been prepared before we arrived to the room.

We ate breakfast and the food was fresh and delicious, the coffee was divine and the service was prompt and attentive.

This was a good value location and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Let me start by saying that this is a great, modern hotel; it is clean, well-designed, the staff is friendly and professional. That said, if you are looking for a hotel in the center of Florence, this is not the one to choose. It is a good 15-minute walk to the center of the city (and about a 30 minute walk from the central train station). It wasn't a bad choice for us, as it was near to the home of some family members and I am not a big fan of crowds. But it may help if you know what to expect.
