“HEY HEY GREAT STAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2010

If you want to stay in a tourist house that has friendly staff and a good location then this is the place for you! You will be hard pressed to find better value for money given all of the below:

My friend and I stayed here for three days and experienced the following through aid of the staff at the hostel.
- Recommendations for cheap, hearty meals
- Travel experiences and tour deals within Florence
- Free use of internet (1 computer + wi-fi available)
- Clean and safe premises
- They went above and beyond, trying to find us an english language cinema so we could see a movie on the evening we didn't want a big night out!

We felt really comfortable and helpful and we felt the staff had a lot of insider/local knowledge on the area, from tourist hot spots to local eateries and entertainment hangouts if you want to immerse yourself deep within Italian culture.

Highly recommend to fellow travellers for an affordable Florence stay

Leonardo House is a Hidden Gem!! Great location right near the main train station, and close to many of the landmarks around Florence! We didnt have to catch public transport once, you are able to walk everywhere from the Hostel!

Leonardo himself is a great host and made myself and my friend feel right at home and very comfortable! He gave us exceptional service ! great tips on many of the local eateries, nightlife and tours!

I would definitely recommend Leonardo house to travelers between the age of 20 and 30, who are not looking to spend much on accommodation, but still feel safe & enjoy the location of their hotel. As 2 young girls travelling through EUrope, we have stayed in many dodgey hostels and felt a bit uneasy, but this place was a breath of fresh air! Definitely reccommend to anyone visiting Florence!!!

Leonardo House had a fantastic location, and an even better host. Leonardo is incredibly kind, accommodating, friendly, and helpful to his guests. The rooms were clean, plain, and exactly what a traveler needs to be comfortable. The cost was rather inexpensive and the location was a 3 minute walk from the Dome. Upon our arrival, Leonardo opened a map and circled many amazing sights that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. I felt comfortable, safe, and would definitely go back!

Leonardo was very nice but was not helpful, he gave us a key and that is it. Our room was disgusting - squished bugs all over the walls and floors. We had to listen to music all night because the buzzing of the bugs was so loud it kept us awake. A single dull light bulb for the entire room. The bathroom was not cleaned once for the entire 5 days that we were there, even though Leonardo came to clean another bathroom after someone had checked out. We resorted to breaking into an empty room to use an en suite bathroom rather than the revolting shared bathroom. The only saving grace of the hotel was that we could walk anywhere we wanted, so we could leave early in the morning and not return until we were so exhausted we could fall asleep in the inhumanconditions.

I would def. NOT recommend this hostel to anyone 25 and older. We chose to find another hostel b/c the room we were given had no window, had a single lightbulb hanging from a wire in the middle of the bedroom, dirty walls and 'unusual' stains on the bedsheets. We also were informed that we would be sharing a bathroom with a family of 6, one of whom was in a wheelchair. If you do no care where you stay, then this is the place for you.

We got a double room ensuite with bathroom and shower. Room was generally decent, bedroom area was relatively spacious with a dressing table; however shower area appeared a little decrepit. Location wise, Florence is not that big an area, so still walkable to main sites. Leonardo was friendly enough. However, entrance area smelled a little musky, like pigeon poo, and was not a welcoming smell, especially when you have to smell it while climbing up the stairs from the front door to the reception. Wouldn't mind staying again if no other cheaper option, but can probably find somewhere better with a few euros more.

Between the dates 26-29september 2008, we stayed at Leonardo's House. The Location was perfect.İ can't find a budget hotel at this price with this location.
Our room was not a room it was mor like a flat.
We stayed 3nights in a huge flat with kitchen-living room-large bathroom, and we only payed 70€ per night.Leonardo was very helpful, very nice person.
When you enter the building ,there is a ground floor that we stayed and upper floor where there are rooms. So,if you stay in the ground floor(which i reccomend),that will be perfect.Because it has no connection with the upper floor, and it was like you have your own flat in Florence. You see nobody and nobody sees you..You don't feel like you are staying in a hotel!!it gave us more freedom.
Hope to stay in Leonardo again!!
