Bed and Bed Cassia is about a 10-15 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella train station. It is located in a quiet section of the city, but definitely within easy walking distance of the center of Florence. They refill a tray with a croissant, biscotti and a bottle of water each day. The room is clean, the shared bathroom was pretty clean and always available. There is a great pizza place down the street (away from the main road), I believe called Jacopino's, where all the locals eat and well worth the wait (usually a line). No one lives at the hotel (it is basically the third floor of an apartment complex that you get a key to while you stay), so you need to be able to call ahead of time or let them know an exact arrival time so that they can let you in the first day. The last day that we were staying there, I noticed that a t-shirt and sweater had been taken from our luggage. We notified the owner who quickly reimbursed us for the missing items. He mentioned that this is the second time a similar incident has occurred, so hopefully he has taken care of the problem with this particular staff member (it was pretty clear who was responsible by the end).
