“it's alright”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2011

clean hotel close to everythig.
we had a car that we were able to park for 20 euros at a neighbouring garage recommended by the hotel. it is also very close to the SMN train station.
it is in a busy area, so never a problem finding something to eat and drink. also close to the market - so while it is in the historic centre of FL it is also on the outskirts of the centre, so a bit more shabby area.

the hotel was clean, the mattress was horrible. very basic room, very clean bathroom.
didn;t try breakfast there - clearly not a forte for them.
no minibar, so you can't store anything in a fridge.
staff- not very friendly. i think they forget that us, the toursits pay their paycheques. only one man was actually a pleasure to deal with.
in all, good location (20-30 min walk to everything) and clean room.
don;t expect anything spectacular. just basics.

I stayed in Hotel Annabella for 7 nights in July. The room was clean and very spacious, and it had a modern bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet. We booked a double but our room had an additional single bed in it (which kept disappearing and reappearing throughout the week). The management team were friendlier as the week went on and were available when we needed them.
The only downside was that the control for the aircon was a remote which was kept at reception which we had to ask for everyday, and they didn't have free wifi (instead it was 5euros to use it for 4 hours). Overall, this hotel is great if you want to keep to a budget and are out in Florence all day anyway - it's a comfortable place to crash in the evening.

Room Tip: We used LateRooms.com quite a few months in advance

I have to tell you the location, staff, and room were excellent. I went and stayed there with my three girlfriends and we had a blast. The staff really helped guide us through Florence and helped us to stay on budget. They didn't have to really give us any recommendations or tell us the best kept secrets of Florence, but they went above and beyond. They informed us of the tourist traps and made sure we were well taken care of. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was spotless. They even had additional restrooms to use. The staff spoke very good English and made us feel like we were at home. The hotel is literally around the corner from the train station. There is a small grocery store around the corner too. So if you want to stay on budget and see Florence this is the place to stay. It is not super fancy, but well maintained and the location can't be beat. My only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer, but there is always next time. Ciao to Simone, Vittoria, Fabio, and Teo. Julia, Linda, Vivian, and Kristin all agree Grazie Mille!

Room Tip: We really lucked out on finding this hidden gem

During our multi-city trip to Italy, this hotel was our least favorite stop. After experiencing stellar service levels & friendly staff at other establishments, we found Hotel Annabella to be rather unfriendly. The room was nice enough, but the air conditioning left a little to be desired. This was also the only hotel on our itinerary that didn't offer a complimentary breakfast. The location was great, though (a very quick, easy walk to the train station, even with luggage) & was close to many sites and restaurants.

Hotel is placed on a very good location, near rail station for those who come without car and very close to the historic center. Hotel is on the last floors in the old florentine house, it's easy to find block but it's a little bit confusing to find the right entrance. There is a wonderful view on the famouse Florentine rooftops from the rooms.

We requested early check in and even got the confirmation but that didn't happen. So we left our luggage at some room which wasn't the luggage room n went on to Pisa.
By the time we returned the room was ready for us,n good for us it was near the reception, made it more easy.. Room was perfect..

Our group of four adults and 14 high school girls had a wonderful stay in this Tuscan bed and breakfast. We took advantage of two quads and two triples with two doubles all on the same floor. Even though it was chilly in February we had a great view and picture session on the rooftop terrace. Really 3 minute walk from the station and an easy walk to the Duomo, Accademia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and the San Lorenzo Market. Also a quick walk to Buca Mario restaurant that easily accommodated our group of 18 for a great Tuscan meal. The longest walk was to what the local and foreign college students said was the best gelato (not Vivoli but a shop started by a former employee nearby) which had store hous past 22:00. It was well worth the walk. The room temperature was not quite right for us so the women at the desk came and adjusted until it was perfect for us. The breakfast was simple but easily carried us to lunch. I would recommend it for your group.
