This property was perfect for us. It is 1 1/2 blocks from the Domo and the Medici chapels & tombs, 3 blocks from the Accamedia, and right across the street from the Medici Palace. We could walk to dinner and come back for a jacket (we had our own keys). The room (De Curtis) was clean, newly renovated and tastefully decorated to reflect it's history, including a stenciled and hand painted ceiling and a double shutter/door/window with a pseudo-balcony and a view of an inner court yard. Even though we were in the middle of the city, it was quiet and dark at night. The church bells in the morning were most pleasant and the loudest sound we heard. The room was smoke free! A big plus for us. The breakfast was by voucher at a Mom & Pop breakfast & lunch shop across the street where the food and the coffee were great. A nice relationship of businesses where we felt like the winner: We could show up at most any time and pick what looked good, eat at our leisure and watch the pedestrians, or even get it to go if we wanted. We can't comment about the phone or the tv because we used a cell phone and we never even turned on the tv, but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great and the information book, street maps, and room safe were all a big help. The only detraction was when we had the window open. Due to the season (Oct) there were still mosquitoes invading so we had to leave the window closed. The staff (Julliette), however, was most helpful and caring and went out of her way to make sure she answered our questions or that we had what we needed - which was great for our first visit to this charming city. Based on this experience, I'm sure it won't be our last.
