“Good hotel, not so good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Overall, this is a good hotel. Staff at reception, very professional and kind. Rooms are spotless clean and nicely appointed! Bathroom again very clean but small. Free parking!

Breakfast is average for a 4 star hotel, but acceptable.

Downside of the Cosmopolitan hotel in Florence is its location. It takes 20 minutes by bus before you reach the center of Florence. It could get very crowded on the bus since the hotel is located on a busy street. The neighborhood is so-so but we loved the pizza's at Pizzaman (across the street). Also, free wifi but with a very limited reach. Very very slow…

Although the hotel itself is quite nice, I wouldn't stay here again on my next trip to Florence due to its location, average breakfast and slow wifi.

Our stay at the Cosmopolitan was the perfect way to kick off our honeymoon tour of Italy. The location is wonderful, very close to the airport (we didn't hear any planes from our room) and just a few minutes (by public transportation--bus) outside the heart of this beautiful city. The hotel itself is very nice, spotlessly clean with modern feel and touches. The staff are helpful and genuinely friendly. Our room was quite spacious--having a very large (for European standards) bathroom. The room was impeccable, appointed with modern furnishings and an extremely comfortable bed. Each morning, a light breakfast is served on the third floor. We greatly enjoyed the fact that we didn't have to try to navigate the narrow streets of the heart of the city to try to find our hotel after a long day's worth of sightseeing--just a quick bus ride.

In short, it was a wonderful stay and we will definitely return to this hotel upon our return.

Pros: Nice stuff, big room, clean, cons: simple breakfast, no minibar! You need to collect what you want from small bar at the small lobby. Very small lobby. Not in city centre you need to pay 11-13 euro for one way. This should be considered if you are tourist.

A very well-kept hotel with refreshingly helpful staff! The hotel is located a short ways outside of Florence in a nice little neighborhood. A small grocery store across the street and, for those who are interested, a Catholic Church only a block and a half away. I found it quite convenient. Close enough to the city -- taxi was 16 Euro to the Santa Croce taxi stand -- but far enough to get away from the crowds.

The we stayed in was quite clean, though European-style small. With three in our room, it was a bit cramped, but we managed just fine because the room was well-designed in spite of its size. It would have been perfect for two. We did have a bit of a challenge figuring out how to open the door -- ours stuck a little, but a nudge with a shoulder when you hear a click gets it open right away.

The elevators are quite cozy. Don't try to fit more than four at any one time or you'll be MORE than friendly!

The staff was always courteous, friendly, and smiling. A small bar next to the lobby provides a nice opportunity to relax and enjoy the ambiance.

Well worth a visit if you don't mind a taxi or a bus to take you to the city.

Room Tip: Breakfast is on the 3rd floor, so if you want less foot traffic in the morning, ask for a different...

We stayed here for 1 night this week before an early flight from Florence back to the US.
The staff were extremely helpful with sightseeing suggestions, etc. Although the hotel seems in he city, the rooms were quiet, immaculate and quite spacious for a large European city.

Updated, trendy hotel. Hallways were not lit well, (kinda like a hip Miami hotel), which we did not mind but feel I need to share. Good price for room. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was very nice to come back to a crisp clean room (even with our clothes in order) after a long day of exploring.
Although not close to the city centre, we didn't find that a problem since we rented a car. It was also close to a bus station though. So if you don't mind staying towards the outskirts of the city, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Fairly priced, modern, quiet, nice breakfast buffet :)

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is very nice, the staff, very polite.
It's close and easy to reach Florence by bus. The hotel sells the bus tickets, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
Breakfast, wifi and parking were included on the rate, and everything worked nicely.
It's a very nice choice if you're going to Florence by car, and don't mind reaching Florence's historic centre by bus.
Would certainly come back.
