“Left abandoned on an awful street”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

As many other travelers have comented they do not respect your arrival time. We did send an email informing our arrival time as they had requested, but got no answer. Then we got there late at night, and nobody was there to open the door, just a note with a phone that nobody answered, we just met some shemale prostitutes across the street ready to assit us. We then, as many others have commented here, had to book a hotel down the street for a much higher rate since it was fashion week in Firenze. Anyway that hotel was awsome (Aurora), and the normal rate is very similar to Art. Next day we went back to ART B&B and were lucky enough to find the weird looking lady that seems to take care of the place and we entered a prision looking first floor, where we would have never stayed, the only good thing is that we got paty of our money back. I would definetely tell you do not book here no matter what your budget is, I did stay in other B&Bs in Italy with excellent experiences from the very first moment you book.

My friend and me reserved and paid with time to have a room but when we arrived to the place nobody was there so, we were waiting for 1 hour, but we didn´t get the room only a man told us, that we could waste our time in Florence and in the night we could get our room, but the owner of the place around 5:00 pm asked me to got back to get my luggage because she couldn´t get a room for us and she would get back our money and got another place but we waste time in this situation and the worst of this was that we couldn´t enjoy a nice dinner in the downtown of Florence and we slept in a hostal because was the only place that the owner could get us.

the hotel did not cost much and therefore there are downsides:
1- the bathroom is private but outside the room
2- the room is very small and the TV is very small
3- the building is old
as I mentioned for the money that we paid it was fair, however the positive things are :
1- the staff are very friendly and they took the time to give suggestions and advices
2- the breakfast was very good and complete ( yogurt, coffee, brioche, nutella, cereal, juices....)
3- the location was close to the station and 15 min walk to everything

My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights and overall we were very happy. In fact we spent our stay constantly questioning how this b&b had so many bad reviews! The breakfast has a relatively good selection and the use of the kitchen is very handy. The wifi was extremely fast and the bed was very comfy! We had slight problems with our key for the main door, which resulted in me breaking our key. But the man was very understanding and tried to show us how to do it. The walk from the train station with luggage is quite a long one, but minus our luggage we had no problem walking to and from the city centre. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We arrived late at night and was quite a far walk from the SMN train station in Florence. We had a room for 3 and was quite cramped and old looking. The receptionist was a lady who was nice but sadly we had difficulty communicating as she didn't know much english. The worst thing of our stay is that the air conditioner turns off after an hour of operation. Even after asking the owners about they place, they said it was alright but it still kept breaking down. Air conditioning was quite a big issue because it was June and summer. Our room was just next to the road and we could hear the cars and buses passing which affected our sleep. Breakfast was basic with just bread, biscuits and coffee.

it was horrible spending 4 nights in this so called B&B. first of all the way from central station to the hotel isn't as short as described, then you may will meet some prostitutes and other weird people on your way.
once you're there the service isn't very outstanding, the girl at the reception makes the impression of being stoned the whole time.
then there is this really strange family from bulgary which lives there since 2 month, and I'm sure that their stay isnt legal. they spend their whole time in the kitchen, like it was their home, so that you don't want to use the common room anymore. they even had a fight every single night, so that sleeping was impossible. The husband even slept on the couch in the kitchen!
the breakfast was simply a joke. 3 cookies, zwieback and a little cake. not worth the money!
the room was ok, except the blood spot on the bed, which was kind of disguisting!

So all in all I can only assure you, that this place should be avoided!!!!!

First of all, there was nobody expecting my arrival. Despite having warned them about my arrival time, I had to stay in the street until one neighbor opened the door, then I had to phone to a local phone number the had left in a post-it stuck on the door. After one hour someone showed up to open the place for me. Actually, they should change the name to “Art bed no breakfast”. The breakfast is served only at 10h30am, if you leave before forget about having any. Besides the place is in the first floor, it is impossible to sleep with the noise of the road. Finally, the internet connection the announce in their website was out of order for 1 week, at least that’s what they said. I doubt they have internet.
