My girlfriend and I stayed here 2 nights. It was only 80 euros a night and seems to compare favorably to more upscale B&Bs around. I liked that it was a 5 minute walk from the train station, but not in the seedy area surrounding the station, so its just 5 more minutes to the main sights of Florence.
Our room was old, but had character, with nice furnishings and a nice bathroom/fridge. the breakfast here is fantastic, I've had hundreds of European breakfasts and this one is near the top with homemade yogurt and amazing hot chocolate and coffee and so much more. A view is the only thing missing. And the owners are helpful and nice.
I highly recommend Alloro if you want value, comfort and a great breakfast.

We stayed at the Alloro in August 2006 and loved EV ERYTHING about this B & B. The location is central, the rooms are splendid, (We had frescos on the ceiling), with lots of space, a safe, a fridge with cold beverages and a very elegant bathroom.
Alloro B & B faces a courtyard and is very quiet at night - you can leave the windows open.
Breakfast is served to your room an includes deliciously homemade yogourt and croissants and your choice of coffe/beverages...
The rooms were also very clean and well-mainteined!
We recomment this B & B wholeheartely!

A great B&B, offering an excellent service in a perfect location to the sites of Florence. We had a good size double, enhanced by our own fresco.

This was the best accommodation we experienced whilst in Italy for a week staying a four different hotels.

Would highly reccommend this B&B!!

My girlfriend and I picked the Alloro due to its great reviews here and we would only support everything we read. We walked easily from the train station and checked into our large room with its mural ceiling. The hotel was just a few blocks from the Duomo and the central district and made our entire stay in Florence a convenient one.

My girlfriend liked it so much that she stayed there again when she made a return visit a few days later. She had a different room that was beautifully decorated.

The staff was helpful, breakfast was brought quickly to our room in the mornings, and the area felt safe with restaurants and an Internet shop on the same block of the street.

This was one of the first B&B's we stayed in and we were worried about the standards compared to hotels and also about interferring owners who want to chat all the time - we had NOTHING to worry about becuase the Alloro B&B was just amazing!!! Our room was one of the most romantic rooms I have stayed in - beautiful windows, curtains, furniture, huge enormous king size bed, amazing frescoes on the ceiling , massive bathroom with a huge shower better than we have at home. I could fault absolutely nothing about this place!!!
The staff were very very discreet and were helpful when we asked for help but stayed very hidden the rest of the time. The breakfast is great, fresh warm crossiants, yoghurt, bread, lovely coffee, juice etc. Delivered to you in bed!! Perfect!!!
Excellent location, literally minutes walk away from all the attractions but also close enough to walk to the train station - but it is very important to note that this is not in the horrible train station area which I would highly recommend staying away from, but we had two large suitcases and carry on bags and we could easily walk from the station to Alloro.
There are some lovely restaurants on the same street but you are also very close to the squares and the whole city is so easy to walk around in.
The B&B was only E20 more than a horrible double room in a backpackers that our friends were staying in very near to the train station and we would consider this to be one of the best hotels we stayed in Europe and would be very suprised if anyone could find a fault here. We would highly recommend and would stay here again - oh I wish & hope that we stay here again!!!!
