“Super view, what you see is what you get!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

One of the major concerns while booking for hotel accommodation abroad is whether the hotel is even 50% of the amazing pictures that they put up. But that is one thing you don't have to worry about when staying at Residenza Vespucci. The room, it's cleanliness, the view is exactly the same as the pictures you will see posted here!
My husband and me stayed here on our honeymoon and hence expectations were high. Though it is a small hotel, the experience outruns everything else. We were welcomed by a very warm hotel manager who helped us with the Hotel wifi connection on arrival itself.
The room was good, if you adore antique furniture you will love the room decor, we did for sure!
The spectacular view of the Arno is addictive, as we kept going back to the balcony to enjoy the sunrise, noon and sunset. The iron garden chairs with pretty flowers and lemon plants in the balcony are just charming.
The hotel is centrally located and you can walk up to all the popular spots within 15-20 mins.
The breakfast is served in all restaurant behind the hotel but it is not such a big problem as it is 5mins away. However the breakfast menu could be better as there are limited options.
My husband and me are used to a late dinner however there aren't many good options close by. So make sure you have an early dinner elsewhere or carry food to your room.

I would love to stay at the same hotel again the next time we visit Florence. It is a very very pleasant memory.

Stayed for 7 nights in what was a pleasant stay but it is important to manage your expectations. If you come here without expectations of a 5 star hotel and instead expect a largely self sufficient stay then it should be an enjoyable experience. The good aspects were the balcony views, the
central location and the friendly greetings and service by staff (particularly Edwin). Tea and coffee making facilities were also good. The bad aspects were really no fault of the owner as it relates to the ambient street light which means the room is lit up like a Christmas tree even with the curtains closed. It is also quite noisy but that once again is not the fault of the owner but it is something to take into consideration. But all in all if it is 'Location Location Location' you are looking for in Florence then this is among the top choices, albeit with the lighting and noise drawbacks.

Really disappointed considering we booked the room due to trip advisor reviews. There was a dog inside walking around and it walked into out bathroom numerous times, we were offered a drink on arrival and some chips, dog jumped up and licked the chips. A big turn off was the smoking, staff and friends smoking stunk out the place. The wifi was very unreliable, tiny room, bathroom needs renovating. The only plus was the location it was close to train station and tourist attractions. however it was hard to find as up a level and tiny outside plaque sign. Little guy who greeted us was lovely, other sweaty dude made me feel uncomfortable, kept having to sit in main reception to get wifi service and he kept walking in and out like 19 times watching us. I find it hard to believe that the other reviews compared to mine are talking about the same place, I suppose everyone's tastes and expectations are different. I'm really annoyed about this property as it wasn't cheap. A lot of noise outside at night, plus you could here people opening there rooms with the big chunky keys, they weren't easy to open bathroom either. Walks paper thin you could hear people very easily next door.

We spent three nights in a wonderful corner room with a sitting balcony overlooking the Arno River. We were welcomed warmly (including by pet dog Lapo) and showed to our room, which was spacious and nicely appointed. The views out the two window sides of the room were amazing, and it had a small balcony big enough for two chairs and a small table. Edwin brought us a complimentary bottle of wine and we spent the first night enjoying wine on the balcony, people watching, and enjoying the view.
It was our first trip to Florence, so Paulo loaned us a nice guide book and marked up a tourist map of where we should go. All the sites are walking distance from the hotel.
Only two recommendations to improve. The rickety old room locks could stand to be upgraded to the 21st century and with such a nice room and amenities it was kind of strange to only get plastic packets of soap (you know, the kind you can't open with wet hands in the shower) rather than a cake of soap and small shampoo bottles.
The hotel is right on the corner of a main intersection and bridge crossing, so there is a lot of street noise that affects sleep. There seemed to be an ambulance an hour that went by, but can't fault the hotel for that.
The room was pricey, but given the location and overall ambiance, I think you get what you pay for. Overall, great romantic vacation spot.

Room Tip: Don't know if all the rooms have balconies, but get one that does…it was great.

We had coffee on the balcony every morning. Wine and cheese every evening as we watched the wonderful sunset. It was the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of Florence. The staff was great, they happily gave me more coffee for the in-room cappuccino maker each morning! The room itself, the bathroom and bed were all very good. If in Florence, treat yourself to a balcony room at Residenza Vespucci!

Although we spent only one night, we will certainly return. It is a beautiful boutique type hotel full of interesting antiques. We were greeted in a friendly, polite manner and enjoyed a complimentary glass of prosecco before settling into our room.
The room was perfect and had a huge bathroom, mini fridge and coffee maker. The location was central and a short walk from the train station.
Will recommend without hesitation.

The good: hospitality was excellent. Lots of advice on what to see and do in the city. We were welcomed with a complimentary half-bottle of our choice. We chose prosecco and it was a lovely way to start a two-night visit to Florence. Location is excellent, just about 800 metres south of the main train station. Good-quality in-room coffee.

BRING EAR PLUGS. It's not the hotel's fault, but Florence is very loud and this particular location has a lot of traffic noise, sirens etc. Our first night there, we were stunned to hear glass recycling bins being emptied for about 15 minutes, starting at about midnight!

Ambient light is a serious problem in this hotel. Street lights outside the hotel kept the room full of light all night long, no matter what we tried. We had to use pillows or bath towels across our faces to block the light, but it still had a serious impact on sleep quality. Very disappointing -- most places in Italy do a much better job with shutters / blinds.
