This was my second stay. My first stay in 2007 was fantastic. It was so great I knew we would stay here again when I began planning our 3 week trip to Italy. The owner was fantastic. She was quick to respond, negotiated with me over price, suggested a great cooking class, and even made reservations to see the David for us. It is a guest house so there is no one there in the afternoon or evening so plan accordingly. It would have been nice to be given a cell phone number to contact in case of emergency. One should not need to look that up. I am sure she gave us a contact through email, but service would be better if upon arrival we were given that number. The main complaint was mildew (excessive) in the shower and several hairs in the sheets. We did not discover this until the first evening (our anniversary) and could not ask for it to be corrected until the next morning (hence the need for an emergency contact). My husband did ask and it was corrected for the most part. We still found a few less hairs and most of the mildew scrubbed. We realize it is hot and humid in June as we live in a similar climate, but for a guest house offering accommodations this is unacceptable. Correction was attempted. When we discovered the problem we came back to trip advisor to read the negative reviews to discover that most negative reviews are followed with excuses- some legit with others being unreasonable. We did not have the heart to say again that the shower still had some mildew and the sheets still had a few hairs. On the first evening as we were leaving the accommodations of or dinner, a few other guests asked us about our room. We told them what we found and asked them about their room. They responded, "it is ok. There is dust with dead flys on the tile ledge in the bathroom." We hate to complain or leave negative remarks, but it would be best to find another location.

As you have experience we are very careful to assist our guests during their stay and check every single aspect that can cause discomfort ... as long as we are informed.
For example, if you had told us you wanted an emergency number we would have shown that there is a guest book, large and clearly visible on the table in every room, in four languages in which we have described in detail all that it offers B & B, including an emergency number that can be called from the reception telephone.
The flies are a problem that we experience every year for a couple of weeks, not only us but all over the city, tied to a specific step of the season.
The fight with a biological insecticide, maybe a little 'less effective than the chemical but certainly not harmful to people's health.
With regard to the hair in the sheets is the first time in nine years of activity that a guest informs us such a problem.
We intervened promptly ... changing the sheets and not removing the hair, how is it possible that you have found "some more"?
