“Noise,noise,noise.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2011

I would hardly call this a hotel,as there are NO,hotel amenities.I looks like some one took an old building and turned one floor into rooms.

It is also on a very noisy corner, and you need to plug your ears ,to get any sleep.
Once again,I find that free wi fi,only extends to the lobby although they advertise it to be through out the "hotel".
It is really sad, that when you are on a budget, you end up,in places like this.

Dear Sir,
we are sorry that you are not happy with your accomodation.
We just wonder though how is it possible that you couldn't sleep because of the noise if you did not even spend the night here when you posted your review??
You arrived here on july 3rd afternoon and you posted your review few minutes after. That shows a lot about how fair your review might be. Also, we would like to remind you that the website you used to book here never listed us as if we were a hotel, you can go on our webpage on that site and easily notice that we have no star rating. Some websites gave us star rating because of the amenities we have but never because we claimed them. I am sure you can't deny we have rooms with private bathrooms, towels and soaps are provided, aircon, tv flat screen and inwall safe in every room. We forgot to metion we also have wifi that you claim did not work in your room but obviously allowed you to post your review! If all the amenities we have are not enough for you I guess you shouldn't travel budget!! We try to make all our guest happy of their choice when they come here but we guess you decided not to like us way before experiencing at least one night here.By the way since you are used to higher standards in your choice of accomodation we ask you please not to walk shoesless through the corridors as we noticed by reviewing our security camera system you did several times.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Florence, found the place overall excellent value for money with very friendly staff and clean large bright rooms. Positives- very secure, clean (think it has been recenlty renovated), quiet. Negatives- may be a little out of the way for some about a 10 minute stroll into the center of Florence (we diodn't find this a problem at all).

This is hands down the worst place I have stayed in - it does not deserve to be called a hostel. The place appears to have a split personality - the 'hotel' reviews I have read are all glowing, whereas the 'hostel' ones (and my experience) refer to a dirty, disgusting hostel with a nasty, threatening owner. We were shown to an undecorated (COMPLETELY BARE) room, with no covers on the beds, and told that it we would be charged extra for towels (his website is totally misleading, claiming that these things are included in the cost). When we politely queried this we were called 'stupid', and that we should not expect luxury for such cheap rates (they are pretty much the same as standard hostels in Florence).Seriously! My friend and i were stuck here for two nights as he would not give us our money back and it was the height of tourist season, so we could not find another hostel at short notice. The bathroom was disgusting, covered in footprints (?) and the whole place stank of smoke. It seems as if the 'hostel' part, in a separate apartment from the 'hotel', serves as a storage facility for dirty towels, sheets, and er, bags of rubbish. The intimidating owner woke us up at 4am banging on the door, and when we asked what was wrong, he replied that he was looking for the other guests (who did not exist). He also then barged in on me (without knocking), when I was wrapped in nothing but a towel. We ended up leaving early, even though we paid for three nights, because we felt so threatened by this man. The worst part was that he had the cheek to send me an insulting email to my personal address, after I left him a bad review on Hostelbookers. This place, and this person, are completely unacceptable, I urge you to stay away.

I just want to clarify for potential guests that we ( the new management of Residenza Millennium) only have a B&B part (rooms with private bathrooms only) not an hostel as before.
Im sorry for your´re experience with the old management of the hotel/hostel , but if you come back i will be happy to show you Residenza Millennium as it is today.
Kind regards
Cecilia

I've never been in a hotel / hostel in which he treated me so badly, the last straw was that when i get home and make the review of the hostel, the owner sent me insulting emails. For this very strongly recommend looking for another place to stay.
