“Very nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We spend a weekend at the hotel and I should say it is a very nice place according to our experience.

We stayed in a superior room, in the top floor. The room was super comfortable, a really nice and renewed one. A large bed, a small but beautiful bathroom (I have seen many comments on this subject but the space in the bedroom was exactly the space needed... I just need it to take a shower and normal things, not to do yoga).

Air conditioning was excellent (the best I have had in Italy, and it is a very important thing in these warm days -at least for me-).

The service of Andrea and the rest of the staff is nice. They helped us to take the luggage up to the room. There is not elevator, it is the only thing I can criticize but I knew it since I booked. So, this is not an hotel to stay if there is a guest with any disability, consider that.

For me, it is a highly recommended option and I would repeat my stay here if I come back to Florence.

The hotel has a great location, being close to the train station and in walking distance from Florence central attractions. And that was all the positives.
The hotel facilities are very poor. The only positive of the room was it's size. The furniture was old and used, the bed uncomfortable, the tv was very small and the room had a window to a patio.
Even worst was the bathroom: very very tiny, furnished in the 80s or 90s and not clean at all (the hotel provides you flip flops to take a shower).
The breakfast quality was also really poor.

This hotel is very well located. The staff is very nice. Decent views. The breakfast is great if you get there in time because it goes quickly. There is no elevator, but the staff will carry your luggage. Air conditioning works and you need it in summer. This hotel looks a bit shabby, but is relatively pleasant, comfortable, and decent value compared to others in this immediate area. Easy walk to trains and airport bus.

Room Tip: Nicer rooms on higher floors if you do not need an elevator.

Stayed for 3 nights with 1 friend...

The staff here are very friendly and helpful, a family run bed and breakfast.

We had room 206. Spacious, comfortable, plently of storage, mini fridge (contents are free!) But the room could do with some updating.

Breakfast was lovely and good choice.

Location is perfect, 5 minute walk to centre and 2 minute walk to train station.

Overall, would definitely stay here again!!!

Room Tip: Try to get one of the refurbished rooms

It's just 2 mins walk from train station and lots of cafes downstairs. I don't mind there was not lift in the hotel but I do mind on the tiny toilet which made us lots of fraustration for every shower.
Room is big with a tiny toilet and furniture are kind of old. Don't understand how come it rates 3 stars but to be fair, the staff are very helpful and friendly there.

Room Tip: If you carry a big suitcase, better don't stay here and don't ask for the room at 1st floor...

My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Hotel Lombardia in fabulous Firenze. Very friendly staff from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. We were on the third floor in a nice sized room with a fabulous bathroom ;) Lovely shower, and free mini bar, topped up every day. On leaving we were given a gift as a thank you for staying - a real surprise. My wife and I would never stay anywhere else.

It was actually the best hotel that we had in Italy. Stayed two nights in a superior room which was enormous! All furnishings were so comfortable and room was renovated. Everything were fresh and clean. There was a kettle in the room (which was rare in Italian hotels).

The location was just fantastic. The hotel was located only about 5-10 minutes walk from the train station and was quite easy to find. It was also only about 3 minutes walk to the Duomo. We arrived early in the morning, dropped luggage off and was able to get to the Duomo nice and early to avoid the crowds.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful in giving directions. Made us felt very welcome.

The only thing would be that our room was on the 4th floor and there was no elevators. The hotel staff helped to move our luggage so that was no issue. But if you have bad knees then might want to request for the first floor.

Breakfast was average tho~

Overall I found this hotel to be of very good value and had a very enjoyable stay :)
