“Wonderful stay in Florence...with warm hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

This property is in a good location with easy access to many sights and is rather quiet. It is a small hotel with a wonderful, service oriented staff. The rooms were clean and well kept, the beds comfortable and the staff could not have been more friendly, courteous and helpful with recommendations. Each morning breakfast was well stocked and enough choices for everyone to be content. Each staff person we encountered had a smile on their face, a warm welcome and was more than happy to accomodate any questions or requests. Our family enjoyed the stay. A special thank you to Gina, who offered a very good dinner recommendation. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Spent four nights at this wonderful small and very personable hotel and would return in a heart beat. Staff were so friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and very we'll maintained, breakfast was delicious, location was excellent, close to all the sights, the train and bus stations, the shopping and the restaurants. Florence is a beautiful city and this hotel is an ideal spot from which to experience all that the city has to offer.

Staying at the Residenza Fiorentina for three nights, we felt safe and secure.

Not far from the train station and the major main street along the Arno River it met our needs.

Rooms were clean with nice linens. The bed was very comfortable. A bathroom plus was an iron etarge to hold our travel needs and 'stuff'.. This is something that is poorly missing in most hotels...a great plus. The hotel should address the teeny garbage can with lid in the bathroom as it's pedal did not work...annoying.

Breakfast was very good...except for the fact that eggs and fritata could not be kept hot as they were not in any warming unit.

Wifi is only available in the dining area and was often eratic.

The entrance doors to the Hotel were a 'hoot' in that they were large, old, secure and heavy. One gained entrance by ringing the bell. The doors opened and closed automatically. Egress was the similar.
Up a unique old but pretty flight of stairs, one went to the elevator to the office floor.
After than no elevators were available.

Conceirge made reservations for us and the different members of the staff were friendly.

The taxi dropped us in front of a large wooden door down a narrow quiet street two minutes drive from the train station and said, there it is. We were not sure what to do but luckily some other quests arrived and opened the door. We later found out that you are supposed to ring the doorbell if the door is shut. It only has a small sign on the wall by the door with the hotel name on it. You go into a massive foyer with about 20 steps to climb up with your bags. I must have done the damsel in distress look well as the other quests helped us lift our bags up to the lift. This took us up to the third floor where the hotel is. We were greeted in a very friendly way, our room was massive with a shiny red apple by the bed which we thought was a lovely touch. The bathroom was lovely with lots of bathroom items for your use. The breakfast room was lovely but all of the food was cold including the food that should have been hot. They had a coffee machine and we asked for a coffee but didn't get one. I would definately stay here again though, it was a short walk to everywhere and the staff were very friendly and helpful Make sure you stay in Florence for at least 2-3 days, lots of lovely leather handbags and jackets there.

Room Tip: Make sure you stay for 2-3 days, lots of leather bargains to be had especially handbags and jackets

My husband & I spent 3 nights in this lovely small hotel.Staff were very friendly. location was fantastic.very close to historic attractions and the station. Breakfast could be better and was a little poor but it was ok for us and this type of hotel. I liked the cozy and freindly atmosphere with it's room and type of entrance like being home. Very interesting.Just we couldn't find the hotel easily, thanks God for our GPS and cellphones , because you almost can't find the name of hotel on the wall !!! I'd be there again...

My husband and me stayed there for 4 days in August, 2013, we loved this hotel as well as Florence itself and would come back to this hotel if we go to Florence again. Stuff is extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our room, clean and light, very quiet, we liked really high ceiling, and beds are just outstanding, so comfortable and soft! A huge entrance door to the hotel and the way it opened and closed was a total delight. The only thing we didn't like was Wi-Fi available only in public areas. Hope they fix it some day.

Hotel Residenza is in a convenient location once one gets situated. Based on reviews, we took a short cab from the train station, which was only a couple minutes, but we were tired and just didn't want to be searching in the heat for the hotel with our bags. I was surprised that our room was not accessible by elevator. There are stairs to get in the building, a tiny elevator takes you up to the main lobby but then one must take one's bags up the stairs to another floor. There are a few rooms on the main lobby level, but I imagine one would have to request those rooms in advance. Air con was ok. It was convenient to have a mini fridge in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful but I would be hard pressed to stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Request a room on the main lobby level to avoid having to carry your luggage up another flight of st...
