“Don't throw away your time...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Tourist trap full of junk you don't want. This is the same stuff (junky football jerseys and t-shirts} you see all over bigger cities in Italy (around the Duomo, along Strada Nuova...). Even the three teens in our group thought it was awful. And that was on a day when it wasn't even crowded with tourists.

Far better to go and get gelato at Gelateria Santa Trinita and wander around the Oltrarno to buy stuff from actual artisans.

“Lots to offer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Liked the great selection of leather goods and souvenirs. Disliked that it was closed rather early on Monday evening.

“Just what we needed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

The San Lorenzo market was located near our hotel. It provided the traditional market place for us to buy food and various tourist items. Be sure to look for the open indoor food market. It is wonderful!

“Bargains!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

A huge market, full of everything from bags to scarves. I got a huge pure lambswool wrap made in Florence for 10 Euros. Some bags are expensive, but you must haggle. If it states 65 Euros, you can get that down to 40 or less. Leather belts abit dear, not worth it.

“Hard Bargains”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012 via mobile

There's a lot to see. Make sure you watch yourself and your belongings. The quality varies greatly between stall to stall and so do the prices. I would shop around before committing to the vendor. The prices of the particular leather purse I was looking at varied from 95 to 55. I bought all of my presents for my family here and the other market near the gold district. I didn't bother looking at any leather jackets. The vendors are very pushy and I don't have the patience. Overall, a good way to spend an hour or so.
