“Charming Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We really loved the food and the ambiance of this little place. We are vegetarians and the lovely owner from Naples guided us to terrific choices. She was the absolutely warm and delightful--just what you think of as the best of Italy. Definitely try the fresh mozzarella that she brings from Naples!

“Definitely the best in Florence and one of the highlights of our trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

A most surprising and delightful discovery. It is extremely small (only 3 tiny tables with a couple of bar seats) and reservations are a must, but don’t be put off by that because the experience is definitely worth it. On our first visit we didn’t have reservations but we were accommodated anyway. The restaurant is run by a husband & wife team and both of them are warm, very friendly and they have a lovely sense of humour. We started off with a selection of salami and cheeses plate, which was simply magnifico—everything was sourced locally, light and yet flavourful. If we hadn’t already ordered entreés I would’ve ordered a 2nd plate! For our mains I had the tortellini with ragu. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the ragu was tender, juicy and exploded with all sorts of delightful flavours. My husband had a pesto lasagna, which was simply the best Italian dish he had ever eaten. The noodles were cooked to a melt in your mouth creamy consistency with besciamella. Combined with the undescribably delicious pesto sauce, this must surely be the restaurant’s signature dish. We enjoyed our experience so much that we immediately made reservations for three nights later. For our second visit, we shared a plate of bresaola (cured raw beef, or a beef version of prosciutto) with salad. The beef was lean and yet buttery tender; it had a very distinctively sweet musky taste. For pastas, it was my husband's turn with the tortellini while I ordered the rotini with shrimp & radish—again, a light dish that bursts with flavours. The best thing about eating here was that it was like visiting the home of a good friend (who happens to be a great cook). The second best thing was the prices—unbelievably cheap by Florence standards or anywhere else’s. Anyone visiting Florence absolutely must eat here.

“Simply delightful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

What a delightful and delicious littlerestaurant this is! What a shame we didn't find it until the end of our stay. Book as soon as you arrive and experience authentic Italian food. Right from the moment you enter this tiny spacd - seats 12 at squeeze, you know you will experience something wonderful. The warmth and sincerity of the welcome, the menu delivered orally along with explanation and the cosy seating is just the opening of a glorious evening. The food was superb. A variety of bruchetta to start followed by ricotta and spinach raviolli and meat lasagne. All freshly prepared and perfectly cooked. Dessert was a homemade cheesecake and chocolate selection presented together on a wooden platter. A delightful ending served with a sweet wine, an excellent accompaniment. Excellent value. Best dinner in Florence! A must do. Highly recommended.

“Great service and good food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I were very lucky to eat here. We actually did not have a reservation and was roaming around the area around 1745 when we met up with the shop owner. We told him that we did not manage to secure a reservation but he was very kind to accomodate us if we agree to return at 1900. For anyone checking this review, you should get a reservation. We were very lucky.

We promptly return back and was greeted by the lady boss. Both owners are very friendly and it reminds me of a homely atmosphere. I had sliced pork and salad while my wife had pasta with tuna and olives. While i dont know if it is authentic tuscan, it is definitely very delicious! i also had a very fruity and full white wine. Ask for their recommendation!

We then had some strawberry cake that waa pretty good. Here comes my tourist silliness. i saw a nice bruscetta on the other table and wanted to eat it. I was teases for eating an antipasto after dessert. haha. It turned to be my favorite dish!

Everything we ate (2 dishes, 2 antipasta, 1 wine, 1 slice of cake, mineral water) costs us 30 euros. Very cheap meal for the quality and warm treatment!

“Simply fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

There's only 3 tables at this tiny restaurant, so it is best to reserve your places beforehand through telephone or the night before.

It's definately worh it.

The lady of the house tells you what's on the menu for the evening, which wine acommpanies best, and rest assured to have some very delicous surprises. Do check in advance on facebook or twitter or their website if they are open as the were closed a few times we went. We went twice and didn't regret it.

It's as if dining with your best friends, and the size of the place really gets you a home feel.

Top people, top food, top spot close to the ponte vecchio.

If it weren't 1200km from home we'd eat there at least once a week.

A MUST visit while in Florence.
